Who: Elijah Worthington & Archer Braddock
What: Surprises, brohangs and beer, oh my!
When:Thursday evening
Where: The Manhattan skyline
Rating: TBA

He predicted doom, gloom, parental inquisitions and the end of the world at the start of his day. Yet what happened to Eli?

Well there was some gloom, a smidgen of parental inquiry and at last check the end of the world had to be rescheduled. Something or other about prior engagements. The telepath managed to survive his day in decent shape when all things were considered. While his work had it's string of frustrations that not many understood or felt the need to patronize them (thank you for nothing, Tobias Shaw). Elijah was still deeply devoted to his cause of helping others in need. Not to mention being able to come out of a board meeting without the urge of wanting to stab someone repeatedly with a psyarrow? That was considered highly productive in his books! Once he returned back to the office and tied any remaining loose ends for the day, Elijah felt the fatigue slowly wrap around his body. It'd been a long day and he was only too glad to be going home. Even with the commute home the telepath's mind ran through some recent developments in his life. Things with Chris were hard to explain but something that made him smile was blossoming between the pair. Whatever that may be. Though Eli knew he'd have to find an explanation for things with the impending arrival of Betsy. His mother had played coy on the phone but the telepath recognized the tone in the ninja's voice. She was up to something and though he couldn't scan her mind, he was certain of what it pertained to.

Now if his beloved uncle and aunt were to follow suit then Eli may have further reason to be on edge. The last thing anyone needed was his family running around New York all vigilante-style. That was so 2003. Not to mention he worried for his elders. And secretly prayed his mother had lost the old battle suit over the years.

The moment he got home Eli found himself struggling to detach himself from the stresses of the day. His hands still defiantly clutched his PDA as he sent out last-second emails about meetings or proposals, and he tried making arrangements for Betsy's interrogation arrival. Perhaps he could pull Archer into helping him deal with the retired ninja? The thought branching into a curiosity on how his cousin was doing. It was a comfort knowing the other was safe, all things considered, but it felt strange not having seen the one person in the world who was more of a brother to him than even his own half-siblings. He'd have to give the man a ring and make plans to get together and come up with a plan of attack to make sure their parents stayed retired. And fully clothed.

However said plotting would have to wait. Instead Eli was determined to do one thing: relax! Once all technology and work duties were abandoned, he ventured through the town-home and into his bedroom. The heir's first move was to change out of his suit and into something more comfortable. A pair of jeans and one of his old hoodies left the telepath more casual now. What to do with an evening to one's self and nothing to worry about? He could go to the gym, or watch a movie. Hell, he could even go out and start a stamp collection if he was that bored. All the ideas seemed bust to Elijah as he wandered through his home in search of something to occupy his attention. A scavenge through the kitchen turned no results and reminded him he needed to go shopping soon. Glancing outside the kitchen window he reasoned tonight would be a good night to go out. Maybe he'd go to one of his favorite restaurants? The thought almost dismissed at the procrastination of having to call a cab or take the subway.

Then it hit him.

The weather was good and he needed time to clear his head. He hated to admit it but he surrendered himself to grounded means of transportation to maintain the appearance of normalcy. But with the sky so clear tonight, it just called out to him. Begging for the psion to join it's realm.

Eli didn't fight that siren call as he crossed through his bedroom and onto the balcony outside his home. There was a faint breeze in the air, the weather warming up nicely as the telepath approached the edge of the balcony. The sidewalks were clear and all seemed calm. He missed flying around for the hell of it. He didn't remember why it was something he restrained himself with at times. Maybe it was time he needed to reconnect with his roots? Climbing over the railing and standing on the balcony's edge evoked that familiar pulse of excitement. The chance that if he didn't trigger his flight quick enough his fall from seven stories up would be a painful one. The wind wrapped around him in gentle plea to take flight.

Elijah leaned forward and let go of the railing.

Gravity pulled as the young heir dropped from his floor. That surge of psychic energy coursed through him and burst out his back. Leaving the confinement of his body and evoked into an outward display. Two large wings erected from his spine and he felt his body get carried into the air. From the ground, the purple-winged seraphim ascended to the heavens with a hood drawn over his face. Shrouding him in secrecy as he soared through the sky. Elijah's wings flapped in time with his movements as his mind guided him, keeping a steady pace as he let himself travel higher into the sky. Seeing the view of all the building rooftops so far below him put certain things in perspective. Further reminding Eli of just how small they were.

Eli began to relax as he willed his body to flow along with the drafts of wind with violet wings outstretched. He was coasting through the air lazily as he let his mind lazily steer him. It was a liberating experience to be in the air. The restrictions of the earthly plane stripped away from him and given the opportunity to take in the complicated beauty that was the earth below him. While the seraphim immersed himself in the peaceful ambiance around him, he left his guard down. Unaware that at such altitude someone may sneak up on him. After al, mischief had a way of finding a person when they least expected it.

The evening caressed his balcony, the last rays of sunshine quickly faded and gave way to a sea of stars above the beautiful skyline of Manhattan. Archer was doing what he always did these days, mulling over maps of the Northeastern United States scribbled with marked circles and arrows. Miscellaneous paperwork was strewn along the makeshift desk that he propped in a solitary corner of his apartment. Archer always found the paperwork time-consuming, but Interpol was never known for its shortened incident reports. He had left his balcony door open, partly because he didn't mind the sounds of the streets below and so that a faint breeze swept across his living room every now and then. He craned his neck to one side, a small crack broke the tense silence in his apartment. His hand moved to his forehead, sighing as he looked away from the maps and to the balcony.

With no doubt in his mind that his parents would burst through the door at any moment, Archer really didn't want to cater to them. He had a job to do and that's it. Having family in New York City was all well and good -- and Eli had been more of a brother to him -- but Interpol, in the scheme of things, came first. Once the Prophets of Delphi were apprehended and subsequently put away, Archer could relax again. Not that Archer had relaxed at any point since he got into the United States, but Archer would never admit that. Always a bit bull-headed and stubborn since he was a child, Archer admitting a fault would be like Moses parting the Red Sea. Or something to that effect.

Getting up to stretch his legs and arms, Archer moved towards the balcony. The curtains had come up so far off the ground, the path towards the balcony had become a ghostly hallway lined by both sides of the drapes. Maybe a fly around the city would relax him a little. Alleviate some of the tension that was ever present in his mind. A visit to Eli's might have done some good, but he didn't know where his cousin was hiding. He never really liked prying into his cousin's affairs but he did have a few questions. After all, what is a cousin for? Turning on his heel, Archer walked into his bedroom and put on a loose shirt and a motorcycle jacket over his body. It would likely be cold tonight if he was flying across the city. With his shoes on, Archer made his way out to the balcony, grasping the railing with his hands. Cold to the touch but the night seemed warm and inviting.

The sequence of colors began. Green aura melted into cyan, which in turn transformed into white, finally blooming into a golden-hued aura. His eyes were ablaze with golden energy. He took this chance to scan the conditions for flight. Nice and breezy, no one in sight. Archer jumped over the railing with one arm, being careful not to tear off the railing with his hand. He did a flip and went into a nosedive before righting himself and setting off in an upward direction. One thing that Archer liked about his flight abilities was the sheer stealth. Unless he went supersonic, Archer could fly with a low hum trailing behind him.

Archer passed over a tall skyscraper, flying in a wide arc above the building and swooping down the other side. At that point, he eyed a purple streak traveling across an "intersection" between buildings. He increased his speed, flying down the wide row of buildings before making a sharp turn to the right. Archer increased his altitude, catching up enough to be hovering above the purple-winged and hooded figure at some distance. It couldn't be Elijah. No, it was. He recognized the purple wings anywhere. He slowly descended over him, shifting his speed to match his cousin's speed and trying not to make a sound. "Bloody hell. Someone else had the bright idea?" he said loudly over the wind, chuckling to himself.

There was something a little indescribable about flying, it was something not many people were lucky enough to know. It was the freedom of feeling the air whip around you with every move and the way your mind detached itself from the earthly matters when soaring through the skies. Elijah felt at peace flying, and when it was for nothing more than to joy the ambiance of it, Eli let himself go. His mind wasn't reaching out to other consciousness and he let himself unwind from everything. Eli was at his most liberated when it was his time to rule the skies.

Growing up with a flight-centered ability Eli didn't have too many people he could relate to in the same aspect. Sure things changed once people started to grow older and undergo their changes. But this was something Eli couldn't share with others. It was something not many knew of him.

However one thing that was common knowledge amongst his family was that when surprised or caught off guard Eli often had an interesting reaction. Which usually made for hilarious stories. He was minding his own business and soaring around while Archer stealthily approached the telepath. Truthfully Eli would do the same to Archie but this time he didn't see it coming. His mind was elsewhere as suddenly a voice barked at him.

Elijah was startled, and instincts honed sharply to defend himself. Perhaps it was a sign that yes he was still worried about his safety especially with recent events in the news. But the seraphim banked to the left and rolled quickly. If he was going to be attacked suddenly- he'd put up one hell of a fight. That psychic energy raised through him instantly; the force coming to surface as each impulse made it's way through a synaptic jump. His hair was a deep violet and instantly he grasped his charge of energy. He rolled over to face his would-be attacker and had one hand pointed at the man with an ominous violet glow surrounding it.

"What the- -" he yelled back, that pulse of energy escaping him. The purple energy crafted instantly into an arrow that left his body. Just as the arrow left so did the realization that it was his cousin he was about to hit. "Oh shit, No!" he screamed as another arrow was fired, trajectory aimed at his earlier projection to shoot it off course.

"Archer! Move!" he yelled as his mind willed his second arrow to travel faster. The arrows collided and nearly hit Archer. They exploded in a fit of psychic energy but thankfully missed their target. Where one had the name sake of an archer, the other had the skills. Archie managed to move quickly out of the way as Elijah circled quickly around to straighten himself. His eyes were full of fire as he locked gaze with the golden eyes. "What the fuck! I nearly shot you!" No really folks, Eli cared. Even when he was yelling at Archer.

It was a hint of their playful relationship as Elijah charged at Archer with full speed. His mind latched onto Archie's, pressing against the other's in a mental hug. It was a familiar train of thought as he reacquainted himself with his cousin. Archer reminded him of home, now even as adults the pair still were young at heart when both men were paired together.

'You startled me, you jerk! A mental laugh echoed the one that was evoked from the purple-haired telepath as he finally crashed into his cousin and offered a warm hug. Eli knew the change in weight may momentarily throw Archer off but risked it. Archer was well trained, he knew how to balance himself quickly. But Eli kept his flight. Just to be safe.

'So this is where you been hiding yourself, the skies? You know some people just say hi instead of trying to get themselves shot into a coma!' his teasing was playful but Eli didn't fight the big grin that spread across his lips. It seemed that only the two of them would be fated to have a family reunion in the skies.
