The Walk of Shame
Who: Cassandra and Bruce Wayne
NPC: Alfred
Where: Batcave
When: Saturday, 4/28 (backdated)
What: Batgirl has spent a week hiding out at Doug Ramsey's house after she discovered Babs Gordon had resumed her Batgirl duties. Now Cass has to have a heart-to-heart with Bruce about what's happened in that week.
Rating: PG-13?
She'd been dreading this moment for the entire week. That was partly why she'd stayed away. At various points during her stay at Doug Ramsey's house, she had the distinct feeling he was there, watching her. She never saw him, so she was never sure if Batman had actually been there, or if she was just imagining the worst. She knew she was going to have to see him again, but she was dreading the meeting possibly even more than seeing Babs again.
But reuniting with Babs had gone better than she'd feared, and she'd found that she wasn't angry. She was actually surprised and relieved that there could be two Batgirls at the same time. Once she'd thought about it, she certainly couldn't fault Babs for wanting to put on the costume again.
That was last night. Cass had spent the night at Babs' Clocktower, eating pizza with Babs and generally making peace with her big sister -- and even talking about this new thing she had with Doug Ramsey. Of course, talking had proven to be unexpectedly difficult -- sure, Cass had spent a week gesturing in her native language with Doug, but she hadn't quite expected it make her so rusty at the spoken language she'd been practicing for months.
That was the story of her life, she supposed: move a couple of steps forward, and at least as many steps back.
She steered her Batcycle into the cave, parked it, and removed her helmet and mask. Sure enough, Batman's presence could be felt.
