What: Combo Surprise Welcome Home/Housewarming Party
Where: Dinah's new Brownstone, Gotham City NJ

It had been a race against the clock to get everything settled before the party-- to get the house finished, decorated (her own bedroom painting with buttery yellow walls to compliment gray and lilac accents), moved into and secured (thanks entirely to Bruce's regular insomnia). She and Hal had only just gotten into the place properly on Wednesday, and now it was Friday and she'd had to come up with some sort of excuse to get her temporary roommate out for a few hours while she let everyone else in.
It just so happened that Carol Ferris still owed her a favor from that one time with the thing, and happened to be in town. While the meeting might not necessarily put Hal in a good mood (depending how they decide to spend their conversation, it would certainly keep him out of the house long enough to create something of a surprise.
The bar in the kitchen was set up like an actual bar with a friendly and familiar robot (on loan from Tony Stark) with a bright green party hat on his three fingered metal hand, whom Dinah thought had probably bar tended Hal's last surprise party (that big birthday one, the age of which no one was allowed to speak). Music straight of Dinah's iPod streamed throughout the house, and there was a six foot long sub, already cut into smaller-than-a-full-grown-man sized portions, along with a cake on which the hostess had written in green frosting, "Welcome home or whatever it's not like we missed you or anything".
When Carol texted to say the man of the hour was on his way back, the guests hid throughout the house so that when Hal opened the door, he was greet by Dinah alone who gave the signal of saying "Welcome home!" before all the guests popped out with their own cheers and well-wishes (and party hats and confetti thrown down from the second story stair well landing).
