Who: Tommy Shepherd and Open! (Feel free to start new threads!)
Where: Precinct 682, New York
When: April 6th, morning
What: Tommy's in a holding cell waiting to see what's going to happen to him.
Rating: PG
By the time Tommy came to, everything was over. He'd been sore and disoriented but to his completely surprise he'd woken up on the classroom floor rather than in a hospital. He had been about to count his good fortune when he caught sight of his fellow classmates. Not all of them had been as lucky as him.
It had taken forever for the emergency vehicles to show up. The fire truck had been first, followed quickly by the police and then lastly the ambulances. Tommy had been sitting in the back of an ambulance, getting more than a few band aids applied when the cops had come over to question him.
He could have run, but he didn't.
Now he was flopped across the threadbare mattress in a holding cell. The cops had been particularly clear that he wasn't under arrest. Yet. It still felt like it though. Tommy had even gotten the infamous one phone call. (He'd left a message on his dad's voice mail, pretty sure the old man was working a double that went into graveyard shift and wouldn't get it until the following day.)
The police had already asked him a ton of questions and hadn't considered, "I don't know!" an acceptable answer. Tommy had been frustrated enough that he'd copped to the super speed thing. There had been a brief conversation between two detective and then they'd shoved him in the holding cell and left him alone for the rest of the night. Tommy was pretty sure they had decided that a mutant problem was above their pay grade.
So Tommy was stuck until someone figured out what they were going to do with him, or until his dad showed up. Whichever came first. Company would have been a welcome diversion, but at the moment, Tommy would have settled for some breakfast.
