Who: Blue Beetle II (Ted Kord)
NPCs: N/A
When: March 11th, evening time
Where: Ted's Super Secret Beetle Lair - in an undisclosed [ie: mun hasn't decided where it is yet] location in New York.
What: Ted Suits Up to get ready to go on patrol! And then ... decides to work on The Bug.
Rating: G - Safe For Everyone
Ted didn't know if it was weird or something like that, that he listened to music while he got ready to go out and fight crime. He never had a chance to ask the other hero types that he ran into, since most of the time his conversations wit them went along the lines of; "Say are you here to stop this crime in progress? Me too, lets do this, and then leave before the police and/or SHIELD show up!" But for Ted, for Ted suiting up as the Blue Beetle meant that you had to have music to set the mood. Maybe Ted had seen too many movies - but he kind of felt that that you needed music when you were getting ready to go out and kick ass.
The music that Ted had chosen to help get him in the right mood was 80's music. 80's music cranked really loud. Cranked all the way to eleven. He hadn't skimped when he was designing this place, he had soundproofed the whole lab. So he felt safe in turning the music up, way up.
Pulling off his shirt, Ted paused for a moment ans he looked down. So he had skipped out on some of the stomach crunches during his workout, and his lunch had been a doughnut (or two ...) but you couldn't tell. No, he was in his twenties (didn't matter if it was his late twenties, it was still his twenties!), his metabolism was high, he worked out, he was good! He shoved any thoughts of the extra weight that his father carried around the middle to the back of his head. His father was a business man, sat behind a desk all day - and Ted, Ted was a hero, he fought crime, he was going out to night to stand for truth and justice! He was going to - he was going to have to take public transport to get from the Beetle Lair to where he wanted to patrol.
Ted had been reaching for his goggles when that thought occurred to him, and he let his hand drop to his side.
Right. He hadn't thought about that. This was his first night here in the Beetle Lair - he had been prepping it for the last few months, but tonight had been the first night he was going to launch his hero operation from this location. He stood there for a moment considering things. He could walk ... or run across rooftops. Or he could just lurk around this area, as long as he didn't make a habit of hanging out around here it wasn't like people would make the connection to this area and Blue Beetle.
Bon Jovi was still playing in the background (blasting even), and it was making it kind of hard to think. So Ted grabbed the remote he had programed to control most things in his lair, and turned the volume down, way down. To like two.
Or ... and this seemed like a tempting idea, he could put his police scanner on, listen for anything that might be going on and then work on The Bug. Because when The Bug was up and running he'd be truly mobile. No public transport for him!
Of course, The Bug was mostly parts right now, and a dream in his head. It was going to take a lot of work ... but that was okay. This was kind of Ted's thing. Grabbing his trusty remote he turned the music off, and switched it so that the police band he listened to was broadcast throuhg the lair. He'd keep his ears open while he worked on The Bug, and if spring into action if The Blue Beetle was needed!
