May 1st wasn't supposed to be a big day. It was supposed to be uneventful and calm with no troubles; a day Wanda could relax and spend quality time with her daughter. Unfortunately, and unbeknownst to her, a certain man had other plans for her on the sunny May day.
The first sign that things weren't going to be as uneventful as she had hoped came when a disturbance appeared that required her attention. She left Eira in the care of her trusted neighbor Gretchen and went to investigate. What it ended up being was little more than a couple men messing with things beyond their comprehension. Nothing cataclysmic happened, and it was a relatively easy clean-up, but it took a good hour before she could even think about returning home.
Just as she was about to set out for home, she got a phone call from Gretchen. Right away Wanda could tell something was wrong. Her neighbor's voice sounded frantic and unsure. It took a moment, but she finally managed to calm the woman down long enough to tell her what had happened. "They took Eira," was what she said, causing Wanda to stop in her tracks. Her heart raced and she grew pale as Gretchen told of a group of men forcibly taking the baby from her. "One of them mentioned Luthor," she added as she apologized profusely. But Wanda didn't hear her. Whatever she was saying after his name was mentioned meant nothing. Her blood boiled as uncontrollable rage surged through her. Luthor had taken her child, but why? No, what did it matter the why? She didn't care what the reasons were, all the matter was getting her daughter back from the clutches of the fiend, that demon of a man. Demon. The word made her think of her sons and the memory of losing them only fueled her anger more.
Blinded by fury, Wanda sought out the president, a task that was surprisingly easy given the fact he was holding a press conference not far from where she was. In retrospect, it would be quite a suspicious coincidence. Hovering above the crowd surrounding the stage where Luthor stood, she bellowed.
"Luthor! Where is she? Where did you take her?!" Her appearance was as wild as the look in her eyes. She was a frightening sight to behold. Uncontrolled hexes sparked from her hands, causing unlikely events to occur among the crowd. All manner of things started to melt, crumble, boil. Some found themselves rendered immobile, while others found themselves inflicted with minor ailments like dizziness and rashes. Chaos erupted, but Wanda didn't notice. All she saw was the man standing at the podium.
