Who: Irena Dubrovna -Cough- Selina Kyle, Charles Xavier & any other X-Peeps Where: Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, Westchester, NY When: Wednesday, April 3rd. Day. What: There's no way all of this isn't natural talent? Right? Selina faces some uncomfortable home truths courtesy of Prof. X Rating: SFW
For the first time in a long while, Selina didn't have much clue of what she was doing – but she had an inkling of what she was getting herself into - trouble. Glancing down into the small circular mirror she held in her palm, Selina's mouth was cast in a thing straight line. She resisted the urge to tug at the wig one more time, deciding it finally looked natural. It felt like an age since she'd last been Irena Dubrovna , since she'd last had to pretend to be someone else. But since the announcement Luthor had made, she'd felt paranoid – more so than usual. And now, she had suspicions. Clue's she'd ignored for too long, a feeling she was too afraid to share with anyone else, not even Leslie, not even Bruce.
Now she was here, alone. Standing on the stone steps of a school she'd been researching for a couple of days. A couples of days was all Selina had needed to make up her mind – but walking up the steps she still felt a slight hesitation in her gut. Okay, maybe this wasn't the best decision – but keeping secrets had always been her way, and she was probably wrong about the whole thing anyway. Part of her hoped she was wrong – because if she wasn't, her whole life was about to get a whole lot more complicated. Something she never thought would happen.
A mutant?
No. Just paranoia and fear.
Reaching the top of the steps and walking an open thick wooden door, Selina found herself in a foyer. It smelt like wood polish and her surroundings showed why. A Rich mahogany staircase dominated the space, shelves with books and tables with fresh flowers in neat glass bowls stood side by side as bright spring light filtered down from stained windows above. It didn't feel much like a school, more like a home. It was unusual, and Selina couldn't place exactly why she felt suddenly a great deal more relaxed. It was nothing like she'd expected.
Blinking through the sunlight, Selina shifted from toe to toe in her ballet flats. Glancing over to a side table, she spotted a sign in book and made her way over to see if she should sign in or try to find a member of office staff.
