Charmed Chocolates by HPFangirl71
Neville came bursting into the commons and saw Ginny Weasley sitting with Hermione Granger, a box of chocolates sitting next to her half eaten. A look of panic overtook his face.
“Did you want something Neville?” Hermione questioned him.
“Actually, I’m here to ask Ginny to the Yule Ball but I can come back later if you’re busy.” he mumbled.
Ginny looked up with an amused smile upon her freckled face.
“I’d love to go with you Neville!”
“Great!” he replied.
He headed to the staircase leading to the boys dorms but suddenly had second thoughts.
“Ginny, I can’t go with you to the ball!” he wailed with despair clearly written across his face.
“Why not? You’re the one who asked me to go Neville. I said yes, so now what‘s the problem.” Ginny asked him, looking utterly confused.
Neville swallowed his fear and answered her truthfully.
“Seamus and I sent you the chocolates but they’re charmed, with a love potion. I can’t expect you to go with me because I tricked you. It just isn’t right. I’m sorry Ginny.” he hung his head down in shame.
“Oh Neville, I didn’t say yes because of any potion. I said yes because I really want to go to the ball with you.”
He looked up in surprise to see a smile upon her beautiful face which he returned.
“But the chocolates… I thought…”
“Oh those… I didn’t eat any of them. You might want to stay away from my brother Ron, at least until the charms wear off.” she said with a giggle.
Poor Ron thought Neville as he joined in the girls’ laughter. This dating stuff was turning out to be easier than he’d thought, because he was now going to the ball with the prettiest girl in Hogwarts.
