WHO: Pandora & William Shakespeare
WHEN: Sunday afternoon
WHERE: The Waldorf Astoria hotel
WHAT: The Bard and his (not so) Dark Lady
My goal is not always to make you miserable, Will.
Two hours ago she had written that to him and it had been the truth. The years they had spent together had been filled with passion, but passion didn't always just make for sex and adoration but also for the most furious of fights. She was fairly sure that as much as William had madly loved her he had also fiercely hated her at the same time; they'd fought like wild animals the two of them, but they made up with the same ferocity. Pandora's own feelings towards the writer had never reached either of those extremes. She'd never shared that desperate love, which just meant that when it was finally over she couldn't bring herself to hate him either. He'd just been a mortal man and Pandora knew time would sweep him away.
But time had been kind (or cruel) and his genius had saved William a spot in eternity, something Pandora couldn't have expected.
So now she sat at the bar of a hotel, waiting for him to show up. She knew what she was looking for, but she also knew that the years changed their appearances. She looked nothing like she had then, when she'd been Mrs Edward Langley, the young bride of one of William's acquaintances. She had been dark then, her beauty not quite the style of the time, but now she was golden, a definite beauty of this age.
In her black dress she waited, feeling for another immortal rather than looking with her eyes. The feel of another a little like herself but not was what made her stand, casting her eyes to the door and then smiling quietly at the stranger who walked in.
William had been tragically obsessed with his dark lady from the first moment he'd seen her. She was unattainable, young and prosperous, the intrigue of a middle-aged man that was a headcase when it came to the fairer sex.
She was beautiful but in all the wrong ways then. An exotic woman with a temper that set him on edge and pumped his adrenaline. He'd told himself a million times to turn around as he stepped up toward the hotel bar, knowing that there was no way he'd be able to later. It wasn't that easy with Pandora (whether she was still just the woman of his sonnets or the immortal girl he'd been warned about). Whatever her aura was it sucked him in like a viper and her venom was sure to come out soon enough, poisoning him to the very core.
Still ever in black he felt her as he approached. He too looked different from days past, no longer with the thicker waistline and receding hair, but a much younger version of himself.
Just as before his eyes couldn't stay away, though this was a fairer version of the lady he remembered.

Once she knew he'd seen her she approached slowly, her hair curled and loose to show it off and her lips painted in the lightest of tones. Perhaps there was a part of her that wanted to show this man there was nothing at all dark about her, although she knew that these green eyes could cut just as deeply as though those dark brown ones.
"Will," she breathed, keeping a small distance between them that she wasn't yet sure how to close.

He'd chased her for years before she'd shown a hint of interest. Even then she spurned his heart as much as she wove it tight like a ball of yarn. His Muses had warned him and he refuted all their concerns for the sake of a wild, lusty heart. Even now as she stood before him in her new guise his heart tripped over itself for that sparkle of attention.
Still quite unattainable and yet immortalized not only in her true form but by his own words. She, his dark lady, his mistress of fire!
Oh how he hated her! Oh how he adored her! Curses!
Yet her breath, the way her bossom rose with his name against her lips. He was hooked already!
"My lady," he said resisting the urge to bow as there was space between them, and he too knew not how to close it. He gave a soft quirk of a smile. "Where have your dark curls gone?" he wondered which look he preferred. This one was new!

Pandora reached up to touch her hair, a woman both constantly vain and constantly worried she wasn't beautiful enough. "The years have changed me," Pandora admitted. "But they've changed you as well."
From her handbag she drew a key card. "I got us a room here for tonight. You'll give me at least one night with you, won't you, William?" She hoped that maybe if she could have at least that much he would want more. Pandora's need was always to be desired by men. It was almost as strong as her curiosity.

"I am a much less balder man than you remember," he said playfully running a hand against his dark hair.
He found his eyes struck to her new found blond locks and youthful face that did not harbor the same dark undertone as before. Her skin, eyes and lips would be as dangerous as they once were even in this far more fair and innocent look. William knew better and still he followed her.
It wouldn't be just one night no matter how many times he repeated to himself that he was setting himself up for madness.
"One night," he whispered.

Never just one night, Pandora hoped.
She did manage to remove that space from between them then, kissing him for the first time in centuries. To Pandora it was electric and she felt her breath shudder against his lips, her hands reaching out to hold onto him, to steady herself.

It was like a lightening bolt through his body that shot straight through him down to his toes. Familiar and yet so very, very different.
"In faith I do not love thee with mine eyes," he quoted himself in a whisper against her lips before happily taking them, hands grasping her face with an eagerness.

It was a moan of pleasure that escaped her lips, hearing those words about her. So many famous lines written all for her, remembered all for her. That was the sort of sign of devotion Pandora couldn't resist, even if so many of those words had been written in spite. Even hate meant she had been in his thoughts, clearly still adored to be so despised.
"Upstairs," she whispered as she drew away just a little. "Or I'll have to have you right here in front of everyone."

His fingers traced over her shoulder, lips wanting more as she put space between them. Hazy eyes opened back up to look into her's. She was a cruel woman! She had sucked those words right out of his mouth.
"Lead the way, my lady," he offered knowing that what lay beyond that hotel door more lust and hate and love all mixed together on those clean sheets.

She led him to the elevator, kissing him again once the doors closed on them, pushing him back into the wall and barely being able to catch her breath. When a man in a business suit got on at one of the floors and gave them a dirty look, Pandora licked her lips and dropped her gaze, holding Will's hands instead of doing anything else.
On the right floor she found the room and unlocked it, closing it again behind them. She rested there against it and asked, "Am I beautiful to you now, William?"

His head was a roller spinner, hands, lips, tongue, everything moving and caressing with a shade of bitterness in his touch. He looked over to the gentleman who got inside that elevator giving him a slight nod in greeting as if he'd not just had Pandora pressed up against him moments before.
Once the elevator came to a stop he followed towards the room. There was no turning back now. Never!
She would always be vain, that question one she'd asked him many times before, only this time she did stand before him in a different light.
"Must you ask such a question," knowing his heart was pounding in his chest.
He stepped forward caressing one of those blond ringlets in between his fingers. "A golden crown upon your head now does not change your beauty." She knew that without asking. His hands clasped against her face again, lips hungry.

She whispered against him as they kissed and as her hands found their way beneath his clothing. She whispered that she needed him, that she needed him to touch her, that no one made her feel this way. He desired her so desperately and that made him desire him with as much need.
Her dress came away as they moved towards the bed, the press of him against her familiar and intoxicating. This wasn't love for her - it never had been - but it was something even better.

Was she telling him lies or rousing his obsession for her again? This was madness! She knew just how to command him.
He stripped himself of his shirt, showcasing that he was a far younger man than he'd been in the times he'd had her before. The years had been kinder to him this time around, and he could be as vain as she if she wanted him to play it that way.

William drove her crazy. She'd resisted him so well back in his day, loyalty toward her mortal husband seeming so important. But how could she resist such a poetic pursuer? He may not have been the most attractive man or the youngest, but he wooed her with such words. He whispered into her ear as though she were a goddess. Pandora could never have resisted. And even later when she was furious with him, he could still use those words against her, to draw her back.
She pushed him down onto the bed and straddled him, her fingers running down his warm chest, her lips following them.

His head flopped against the feathery pillows, eyes rolled back as her lips caressed his skin.
He had no words to give her just yet, his inspiration had been dried up while the rest of the world plucked it from his very grip. Yet, all those old poems swam around in his mind at her touch. A lustful memory.
It used to be she made him feel young when his body was sagging and aging. Reminding him that he was just as sought after, that his very words could bend and pull anyone to his side.
