Achilles gave her a chilvarous bow at her presence, then offered his arm for her to take. It wasn't hand holding or something childish, but when Penthesilea was close, he felt himself at ease. She seemed to temper that wild and raging storm inside his heart. This was important to him, and he wanted to share himself with Penthesilea. He trusted her enough to do so.
