Emma couldn't bring herself to say anything at that point. She was afraid she would burst into tears if she did. She just kept her head down and closed her eyes when he kissed her cheek. Emma loved her Virtue, but in her head she knew it wasn't right to keep him from others who needed him more. She was just a distraction. That's what she told herself anyway. When she heard the door close she finally looked up to where Jonah had been, her eyes trailing to the door. She finally breathed again (she hadn't realized she had been holding her breath) as she stood up and walked to the door. She locked it and then sunk to the floor, tears now running down her face. It was the right choice. At least, that's what she tried to convince herself.
