Jonah swallowed down the first glass of water so fast he almost choked on it. Maybe it would keep him from saying anything else that was sitting in his brain just dying to escape. He looked over at Emma when she was turned from him with puppy dog eyes. He filled a new glass, cleared his throat and walked over to the couch where he handed it to her. He waited a few seconds before sitting down beside her. He wondered if she would scoot away from him now. She didn't seem as happy about his feelings as he had been the moment he said them. ----------
Emma had no idea how she was supposed to go about this conversation. She remembered when she had admitted her feelings to Jonah for the first time, how shocked he was, and how shocked she was for being so forward. At the time, they hadn't seen each other for a while and he had been that horrible Madison that she had feared he would never come back. Since he had come back as himself she had told him more than once that she as scared he'd disappear and Madison would return, that he would be gone forever because of her actions. Emma didn't want to lose Jonah, but at the same time she felt that being more than whatever they had become would result in him being corrupted because of the selfishness of a girl. Emma sighed and looked at Jonah when he sat down. "I love you, too," she admitted, every part of her conscience screaming that this was the worst idea she had ever had. "But you're a Virtue and I can't do anything that's going to corrupt you," she went on.
