"Bless him indeed," Iain agreed, taking a bite of food. He could feel himself starting to tear up as Lachlan kept talking, and tried covering it with a cough. (He knew it sounded horribly fake. He couldn't bring himself to care, though.)
"I thought about that a lot while I was gone," he admitted. "I knew they weren't going to feed you while I was gone, and I was afraid I'd get out and I'd hear that one or both of you had died. I was just really grateful that didn't happen."
