There was something different about her. A glow of sorts that he couldn't place, but it was There was something different about her. A glow of sorts that he couldn't place, but it was warm and inviting. For a moment it gave him some anxiety. He pushed aside his irrational fear of how far he'd jumped ship for this woman. He was a changed man, but he was still flawed. "Well, I appreciate the change. I am not disappointed." He took her hand and pulled her to him. "What's on the agenda for the night. ----------
In general, Nike was rather good at keeping most things to herself. In this case, she felt a very high level of anxiety but she figured they had come this far to what the hell? Not that she was going to spring anything on him right then and there. That probably would have been a better plan, because Nike was also very good at talking herself out of things. "Well you've got one night to appreciate it as much as possible. I'm not squeezing into anything this fancy for a while after tonight," she said, taking his hand. She shrugged, "Whatever you want. I usually go out to parties fro New Years, so alone time is new for me," she admitted. ----------
He would never try to cage the free spirit she was, that was the beauty of the goddess she was. She was strength, power, exciting and inspirational. And she was here with him right now, it did boost a man's ego a bit. But what he had found he loved about that was she was vulnerable, she had a hard edge and a kindness not many got to see---and he was that one lucky guy. In his head she a woman that was going to keep him grounded. He didn't know if she'd ever fall in love with him, but he was okay with that. She had his heart as much as she could crush it, but she had it. Women in his past (and some that had more recently showed up again) were women he left because things became too real, because it scared him. But, he had opened up something in Nike, and it was blossoming into something they both were a more than a little afraid of.
"Then let's put some distance between us and the city for a while. I have alcohol and boat that is itching to get out on the ocean. Why don't you fix a drink and all get this girl started." He gave her a half-smirk smile. He was nervous and he didn't know why. ----------
Nike nodded, "Sounds good to me." She hadn't been on the open seas in a very long time. Maybe the harbor wasn't exactly the open seas, but it was close enough. She had been more of the grounded type, only out there in the midst of battles and presenting victors with their glory. She used to drive Zeus' chariot. Those days were long gone, unless Zeus decided he wanted to have another war. (She hoped he didn't, as much as she liked a good fight.) She headed into the cabin to make drinks, while Theseus worked on getting this baby out of the docks. ----------
Once he released the ship from her hold on the harbor, he guided her out onto the ocean, cutting some distance between the city and the boat before he slowed it back down. They had a gorgeous starry sky as their palette for the night, but he couldn't help but wonder what was going on in her head. The dress, the heels, it was almost as if there was more than a holiday she was decked out for. If it was him, then he was impressed---but he had a gut feeling there was more to this than showing off for him.
When the boat hit a soft lull, he cut the engine off and let her rest, just the water softly caressing the boat with waves. He walked back into the cabin and watched his beautiful goddess before speaking. "Join me out on the deck?" ----------
