While Nike was generally the Enforcer who figured out a strategy and didn't immediately jump into battle, there were times when jumping headfirst was the best option. This was one of those times. She had witnessed Theseus pushing her away, but when Phaedra had continued coming on to him, Nike wasn't about to stand back and watch.
It took a moment for Phaedra to get over the shock of what had happened. Then Nike's words sunk in. So he was dating someone. So what? That never lasted. Phaedra stood up cautiously. When she had her bearings she gingerly felt her nose and cried out in pain. "You broke my nose! You bitch!"
Nike just glared at her, holding her ground, "I can do a lot worse than that if I didn't already get my point across."
Phaedra whimpered and backed away. "Screw you," she said, though not sounding all that convincing. She glanced at Theseus, who didn't seem to care at all. "Screw both of you!" Phaedra huffed again and stomped back onto the boat to get her bag and purse. When she reappeared she huffed past them, "You won't last long. He doesn't know how to stick with one woman." Her words were meant to sting them both. She wanted to hurt Theseus. For now she would let him have his fun. He'd come crawling back. She kept going, this time not even looking back, and feeling cheated.
Nike watched quietly, still firmly planted to the spot until Phaedra was out of sight. Then she turned to Theseus. She had never reacted that way before. Sure, she had been in battles. She had killed before. She had hit other women. But it had never been over a man. Until now.
