Who: Jesse Delacroix, Philotes What: Dropping in When: Early evening Halloween, a few hours before Dite's party Where: Hospital
Ever since Philotes received her brothers text that Jesse and Patroclus were both safe and in the hospital, she felt a huge relief. As much as she regretted any involvement in that whole fiasco, she didn't regret trying to help Jesse. Hell, she didn't regret giving Patroclus water when no one was looking. She wanted so badly to fit in with her siblings, but not at the price of a mortal life. She wanted her mother to be proud of her, but deep down she knew that would never happen. A girl could have pipedreams.
Her stomach was in knots as she made her way to check in on Jesse for herself. She knew she could trust Phantasos, but she had to see with her own eyes. At least she knew what to expect as far as appearances go, so she didn't have to brace herself all that much. She had snuck in any chance she got when the others were out, whether it was to give them food or water or to just be present. No amount of explaining could make up for the fact that she literally couldn't do anything against those siblings. There was nothing quite as humbling as realizing just how weak you are against your own siblings.
It probably looked strange for her to walk into the hospital dressed up as the Enchantress from the Suicide Squad, but Philotes had already been getting ready for Aphrodite's party and she wasn't about to squeeze into that outfit again. She had sent Jesse a message ahead of time to warn him how she looked, just so she wouldn't scare him or Patroclus when she walked into the room looking like something out of a nightmare. She got strange looks from people as she walked by and even the receptionist had to do a double take when she asked where Jesse's room was. "Halloween party tonight," she explained with a smile. Hey, at least she had covered up with a robe so people couldn't see the full effect. When she finally came to the right room she knocked and called out, "I look nothing like my usual self," she warned and stepped into the room. "It took me a while to get the costume right, and I wasn't feeling up to attempting to redo everything," she said with a laugh. Her face went somber and she stepped over between the two beds, looking between both men. She shook her head and said in a quiet voice, "I'm really, really sorry about all of this. If I could have done more-"
