Joey tried to give Nicholas the front seat, but as Joey needed to navigate Nicholas insisted he sit in the front. He slid in and did indeed immediately clutch the dashboard, prepared for takeoff. He wasn't about to complain about going quickly. Once Nicholas piled in, they roared away from their parking spot and towards the upper east side.
The van der Bergs' penthouse was located in an incredibly affluent building and Nicholas felt dwarfed just going inside. Considering he was the tallest one, that was saying something.
Joey hadn't stepped foot in this building since he ran away, and he was disturbed at how easily it all came rushing back as he approached the doorman and requested access to his parents' apartment. He had to show ID and prove he was a van der Berg, but all of them were then led to the penthouse's private elevator and they piled inside.
"Fuck I hate being here," Joey hissed as the doors closed. "Jess' skin is probably burning. Not...not literally." He sighed and leaned against the wall as they ascended.
