In fairness to you, she's super pretty and fits Libera really well otherwise
Hearing his daughter's name brought a flood of memories rushing back. Honos had loved his little family fiercely, happy beyond belief to be a father and raise their daughter. It had been so hard to promise Aurelia they wouldn't interfere, but she'd gripped his hand and looked him dead in the eyes until he'd finally promised. It was the promise he'd always found the hardest to keep, but he'd managed it. Somehow.
So for Libera to tell him she'd hired a P.I., it made him feel very conflicted. On the one hand, he wanted to know everything about them. On the other, he valued very highly the idea of keeping promises, and couldn't help but feel slightly betrayed that she'd gone and done it anyway.
He let out a soft, hissing breath between his teeth, but said nothing for a moment. Finally, he simply said, "I see" before falling silent again.
"You probably know not interfering was the hardest thing I never did," he went on, after trying to figure out how best to phrase his thoughts. "I wanted to. For years, I wanted to. She's gone, I told myself. She'd never know, and my grandchildren...I wanted to know them. But I'd know. And I didn't want to dishonor her memory like that."
