Famine, on the other hand, spent most of her days out and about, only really going back to her apartment to shower and sleep. So she savored her few precious days off, but when Death called, she came. She was one of three that Famine would always appear for, so she got on her bike and headed to Central Park.
The park tended to be empty and quiet after dark, which meant less people to yell at her about riding her bike down what were clearly pedestrian footpaths. She killed the engine when she was almost there, which was easy to find, since Death's presence stood out in the quiet. Death always registered to Famine as a deeper kind of silence, an almost tangible feeling that pressed at her ears. Which was very distinctive.
She leaned the bike against a nearby tree, dropping down onto the bench next to her sister. "Hey," she said. "How's things?"
