Where: Penth's apartment
When: Monday night
Warnings: GUILT
Once Achilles had gotten Helen to safety, he slipped away. He couldn't take the judgement he might get from Patroclus or Briseis. Not yet, he was still mentally unstable, and he couldn't find any solace there. He wasn't ready for it. He went to the only person that he trusted right now that would understand the mental turmoil he'd been under. His body started to shake as he pulled a hoodie up over his head and walked the whole way to Penthesilea's place. He didn't even know what he'd say, he still had blood on his hands. He was going into shock, and trying to come down from that high. What had he done? He might as well have stabbed himself through the chest, because his heart beat was irregular. He'd snapped, and they'd just left the body there to look like a break-in.
He felt cold. Heartless.
He hadn't seen that ruthless side of himself since his last war, Vietnam. Now he was just feeling the aftershocks of what all those years of war had done to his mind. It had been the reason Achilles had never been able to move on, and losing what peace he'd had in Polyxena, all of it just cracked him straight down the middle. He wasn't even sure Penthesilea could put him back together, but he had to start somewhere. He was finally realizing the consequences to his actions just as he had before during Troy.
Achilles knocked on her door, pulling the hoodie back so she could see his face. His hands were still shaking. He couldn't make them stop.
