Suddenly they were all looking at him, and Jayden wasn't entirely sure he remembered how to breathe. "I- I just wanted-"
Lena crossed her arms, trying not to look upset at that. "Jayden, are you covering for Thomas?"
"No!" Jayden said, too loudly. "No, I- I was upset and I didn't know what to do so I asked this guy for them."
Thomas raised one hand, indicating he wanted silence and Jayden felt his blood run cold. All at once, Thomas looked angry but his voice was calm and collected and Jayden found that scarier than if he had yelled. "You brought these pills into my house even though you knew I'm an addict?" he asked, his voice never wavering.
"I-"
"Jayden," Lena sounded disappointed too, and Jayden was pretty sure he was going to vomit. "What if Thomas had found these!? What if his finding them had meant he relapsed."
Oh god. "I didn't- I didn't think of that," Jayden whimpered.
Thomas, who couldn't stand to ever seen someone upset, took a step forward with the intention of reassuring Jayden it was okay. Jayden, unfortunately, took it as threatening and he turned on his heel, racing to the bathroom where he slammed the door and locked it behind him.
