"I could take this the extra mile and say, 'There wasn't a lot about me that was straight to begin with', if you want," he said, laughing as he finished off the last of his food. "But I agree. I'd hate to be boring."
Alex stuck his tongue out at both of them. "You're both so kind to me," he groused, though he wasn't being serious at all.
That made him laugh, loud and bright. "Better you answering than me, I would've just started laughing or muttering about whippersnappers," he said, once the mirth had passed somewhat. "I suppose I'm physically younger than you, that's true. I just happened to die at least twelve centuries before you were born."
