Jesse had known that Jayden wasn't eating, he just hadn't known how bad it was. He clambered into the ambulence behind the EMTs, refusing to let his brother out of his sight as they drove to the hospital.
Once they'd arrived, he got stopped at the doors to the ER, and all of his protests fell on deaf ears. All they would say was that they'd let him know when something changed.
Jesse paced, and worried, and picked at his cuticles. He pulled out his phone to text Nicholas and JJ, then resumed his pacing of the waiting room. All he could do now was wait. And worry.
