Amphitrite just raised one eyebrow at the water. Shedding her robe, she stepped into the shallows, watching as it parted around her. Angry Poseidon might be, but the ocean itself knew that its queen was present. It could not hurt her without hurting itself, she was the sea, at least in human form.
She sank to her knees, trailing her fingers through the water. "A pity we can't just drown him and be done," she murmured. "It would save all of us a lot of time and misery." The water surged over her once more, before finally retreating. "I never understood why he was so keen to break you, like one would break a stallion," she sighed. "It never made sense to me."
