WHO: Jayden, JJ, Jesse and Nicholas
WHAT: Jayden is apparently a musical genius...
WHEN: July 4th
WHERE: His new room
WARNINGS: TBA but likely nothing
They had moved into their new house and Jayden finally had a room all his own. It was strange, having the freedom to do absolutely anything to it he wanted. Nicholas had told him he could even paint the walls olive green if he really wanted to. Jayden didn't think he would, because he liked them white, but it was nice to have the option.
The most important thing in the room, even more important than his new king-size bed, was the amazing grand piano Nicholas had bought him. Jayden was fairly sure it was the most expensive thing he had ever seen (except their gigantic new house which was amazing) and it was his. He had never owned anything like it before. Every time he walked past it he let his fingers trail across the shiny wood, as if he was making sure it was still real.
On the second day of being a bonafide piano owner, Jayden was slowly working out his new favourite songs on it. He had always been a quick learner and he had often played the piano and the organ at his father's church. This was different. This was music he felt in his soul instead of some kind of empty gesture to a god he was fairly sure hated him.
The fact that it was Independence Day and Nicholas was supposed to be grilling some awesome food had been completely forgotten. Jayden's entire world was music as his fingers flew over the keys, perfecting the songs until he could play and sing them by memory.
By four in the afternoon he was an expert. He never realised he had an audience outside his door as he played the Hold My Hand and I Can Barely Say by The Fray. His gorgeous baritone voice rang out over the piano, perfectly in tune. The emotion he put into the songs was obvious.
As he played, JJ turned to stare at Jesse, her eyes wide. Quietly, so he wouldn't know they were on the other side of his door, she said, "he's...goddamn, Jesse, did you know he could do that?"
