Emma had hated being couped up in the hospital. At least now she wasn't hooked up to an IV or heart monitor or anything else just as restrictive, if not more so. Now she had room to breathe and move. It was slow going, but at least she could get around on her own with the help of crutches. She didn't like using them, but she wasn't at all ready to walk around on her own. Though the idea to hop around on one foot had come to mind.
When Jonah had come over it took her a good minute just to get up, get settled and walk to the door. The fact that she was supposed to inform her father of every visitor was bothersome, but she really couldn't blame him. After she she'd gone through it was a miracle she wasn't closing people off completely. But then, she was also being extra careful now. She had arranged for the university to move her things out per her mothers suggestion. Cathryn had made sure most of Emma's belongings had arrived back at home, though much of Emma's clothes had been brought over to the Baron's.
When she was settled back on the sofa she smiled at Jonah. "Thank you for the gift basket, you really didn't have to do that." A common saying, that even Emma wasn't sure she entirely meant. But a polite gesture nevertheless.
