WHO: Greed & Zoe w/NPC Derek
WHEN: Friday
WHERE: Greed's work
WHAT: Zoe's ex is in town for awhile
WARNING: Pouty Sin
Greed was working more these days now that his company had a new account. Their client was not usually someone that they would give to someone in Greed's position, but they were testing his abilities to see if he handled the pressure. If he pulled through he might just be looking at another promotion which was unheard of considering how quickly he'd joined the company, but he was proving himself to be an asset.
The clients they were working for came in, and the big boss asked Greed to sit in on a meeting. There was a familiar face, which had Greed actually been paying attention instead of texting his girlfriend the moment he took a seat saying I'VE BEEN INVITED TO A MEETING WHOOP WHOOP! he would have noticed that Zoe's old flame had been there. He tried to block them out of his memory bank because ultimately they had nothing to offer. He stuffed his phone on vibrate and back in his coat pocket.

Zoe was super thrilled for Greed when the text came, she knew how important work was to him and he had been so patient to work hard and not just sleep and sex his way to the top. She texted him back We have to tell the squirrels! I'll pick you up for lunch, pretend I gave you a big kiss~ Meanwhile, Derek was surprised when he spotted Greed among the faces. He felt kinda superior since Greed was introduced as an assistant sitting in and Derek was actually one of the young managers on the account. When the meeting took a short ten minute break, he walked over to Greed's chair and sat his butt down on the big round table the meeting was being held at, "Well, well, well, Captain America." and he gave him a friendly smile that wasn't as warm as it could have been.
_____________________________________
He was texting Zoe again with a kissy face reply saying I'M SO GONNA GET A BIGGER OFFICE FOR THIS!. He looked up at the comment with that stunned look on his face. Who was talking to him? His brows twisted in two different directions, one higher than the other as he put the face to the voice. "Sorry?" he said putting his phone on the table and smoothing his tie, the one Zoe always knotted up so pretty. He still looked expensive even on a casual Friday.
_____________________________________
Derek pointed at him, "Zoe's boy, right? I mean, if you're still with her. I wanna say.... Charlie? Sorry man, I just remember the suit from the con, Captain America." he pointed to himself, "Derek." he wanted to add 'her first' since Greed had brought it up before but kept his mouth.

A lot of what on at that convention Greed had kind of put in the back of his mind. It had been an eye opener, and there were things that the Sin and the boy had to come to grips with what they really wanted. It was an event that Greed had blacked out. Things were running smooth (for the most part), so anything like this was a bump in the road. The presence of that convention being thrown in his face made him face it, but it felt like a head on collision. "Chance Avaritia." If this guy was smart he'd lock his tongue up in his mouth. He didn't put a hand out to shake, that would have been polite. Greed didn't want to be polite.
_____________________________________
Derek clocked the fact that Greed didn't want to shake and just nodded, "That's right. I didn't know you worked here... what a small world." his eyes going to Greed's phone for a second. He also noticed Greed didn't mention Zoe. "I'm on this account so I guess I'll be seeing a lot more of you."
_____________________________________
Greed's attention went to his phone looking to see if Zoe had responded or not. He sent her hundreds of texts in a day, now that she had her hours cut he texted her even more. "Oh, yeah I was hired back in November." The look on his face said he was not looking forward to seeing anything of him in the very near future. "Working on a promotion. I'm full of surprises and talents." He grinned putting on his best pretend face. If Greed could do anything well it was being something he wasn't. Except here...Zoe had pushed him to see where his talents could lead and it was a nice change. Granted he was stealing some of them blind but overall he was well liked.
_____________________________________
Before Derek could respond, a dye job redhead walked past with cute glasses and a tight butt, "Mr. Avaritia..." she said the name like she was tonguing Greed and handed him a post-it note. Derek leaned to the side and caught the woman's number and name written on the note with little xx's signifying kisses.
_____________________________________
Greed gave her a half-hearted smile, the ones that tended to make most girls melt. He'd started something just for putting up a joke. It wasn't the first sticky note and it definitely wasn't going to be the last for a long shot. She touched his shoulder with wink. By now it should have gone around that he hadn't called a single one of them, but he slipped it into his pocket. He kept all of them for the sheer fact that he was getting 'letters of appreciation'. This was his fan mail. He snorted to himself swiping his hand over the phone, acting as if it was such a normal thing. He texted Zoe again saying I need a new drawer for all my fan mail.
_____________________________________
Derek watched the exchange and his brows raised, "Aren't you just." he said in reference to Greed being full of surprises and talents. There was no way Zoe would be with this creep if she knew what he was up to. His eyes caught his text screen with Zoe. Lunch... huh. He gave Greed a big smile that indicated he was up to something, "I got some stuff to take care of, I'll see you in the afternoon meeting."
_____________________________________
Greed eyed Derek suspiciously. He'd think of ways to embarrass him if he decided to play all cool. No one was cooler than Greed. Nor was he going to let this weasel into his promotion. He'd worked too hard for some punk in Zoe's past to jeopardize it. It was going to be a test of Greed's patience because Derek was a threat even now to more than one thing he owned.
_____________________________________
Zoe jangled her wrist cause the charm bracelet to clink as she made her way to the lobby of Greed's agency. She wore light jeans and a grey long sleeved top fitted with a well cut blue jacket. She had a smile that died on her lips when someone tapped her on the shoulder, "Derek...?" she said in total surprise, she'd been expecting Greed and seeing her ex-boyfriend at his work was shocking.
_____________________________________
"Hey, I was headed out for lunch, care to join?" He hadn't told her yet that he was a client of the company the stood in. "I'm here for a meeting and we've got a break." He took her arm softly, "cat got your tongue?"
_____________________________________
She recovered when he took her arm and said, "Nice to see you too, Derek..." as she took in all that information, she frowned and stepped back, gently shrugging at his hand on her, "Sorry... still have a boyfriend. I'm actually waiting for him." and she offered a polite smile.
_____________________________________
"Oh, you mean Captain America? He's actually still in the meeting room, think he's still busy." Greed hadn't exactly told him she was on the market, but he'd made it clear Zoe wasn't on his priority list.
_____________________________________
Zoe nodded, "Yeah... he gets caught up with work but he does need to eat sooooo... I'm gonna keep waiting. But it was really nice seeing you, Derek..." she said trying to hint at the conversation ending.
_____________________________________
"So you can bring him something back with you. Is it so bad to catch up? I think they've got him busy for a while." It would be nice to chat without that guy hovering nearby. She needed to know what he'd seen, maybe it would open her eyes. It was surprising enough she was still with him.
_____________________________________
She pursed her lips and was thinking it over and then gave him a look but took out her cell phone and texted Greed You gonna be awhile? No rush, just planning.
_____________________________________
Greed had been ready to break until the boss lady came in to talk to him. The big B is here, so gonna have to take a rain check. See you after the meeting. I'M SO AWESOME. he had no idea Derek was using this to play the field with his girl. He didn't even know Zoe was downstairs.
_____________________________________
Zoe's face registered immediate disappointment as she looked at the text. She didn't reply to his i'm awesome text andput her phone away as Derek said, "Let me guess, he's busy." Zoe frowned, "He said he's in a meeting.." but it did mean she was suddenly free for lunch and she couldn't think of any excuses to get out of seeing Derek.
_____________________________________
"His boss was headed that way when I left it looked like." All the better, this guy was an ass. "He seems to be still the ever popular boy." A meathead with his head in his pants. "I'm kinda surprised you're still with that guy." Last he'd seen of her was at the con rave.
_____________________________________
She gave him a look, "He's a good guy." most of the time... "And he works really hard. He's trying to get this promotion..." so maybe she sounded a tiny bit defensive. When Derek pushed, "Uh huh.. so lunch? Since you're free?" Zoe kept eyeing him but she couldn't say no, she held up a finger and said, "Coffee. Just one cup." it'd be shorter and more casual than lunch.
_____________________________________
"So good he gets phone numbers from the office assistants and keeps them?" Oops, had that slipped out? It was a start to digging in deeper to what thing thing they had going really was. "Alright, I'll go for coffee. Sure you don't want anything to eat?"
_____________________________________
She'd seen that before and she knew Greed thought of it as fan mail even if it bothered her a bit. She sighed and headed with him to the elevators, "He's a good looking, smart, guy, not surprised girls are after him." she shook her head, "No.. lost my appetite."
_____________________________________
"He's a meathead with a dick. I worry about you with a guy like that. I mean at the con things looked like they were pretty crazy Zoe." That's what she got for dating a guy that looked like that. "That's how a guy like him thinks. That's why I'm still so surprised. We worked well together."
_____________________________________
Zoe stopped walking and looked at Derek, "Con's are always crazy and you don't know how he thinks. If all you're going to do is bad mouth him then we probably shouldn't get coffee." she didn't want to spend time being defensive.
_____________________________________
"Im sorry, I just worry about you after seeing how tense things were at the con." The words out of his mouth while true felt foreign. He was just digging a huge hole. "This wouldn't have happened if he wasnt some rich, privileged white guy." Was he jealous? Just a bit.
_____________________________________
She couldn't help it, she laughed, "Derek.. are you serious right now?" she got on the elevator with him, "Yes he's white and he has some money but he's an assistant at an agency and he works hard." he also stole but she wasn't going to tell him that. "What're you doing here anyways? Your meeting? With who?" she said trying to get off the subject of Greed.
_____________________________________
"Alright then what kind of car does he drive? He wears Armani and all kinds of expensive foreign suits. No assistant makes that kind of money," though he felt a little smug he had a higher position. This was going to be fun, only Derek didn't know who he was working with. "He's privileged." He insisted that his company was a client of the agency.
It was about ten or so minutes in that Greed had headed down to the lobby where Savannah told him Zoe went off with Derek. She didn't know the guy's name but, she had left with him. Greed looked a little stung. Of course Zoe looked more appealing when things were going well for them. He sent her a text in all caps demanding to know where she was. He had a reason to freak out, Derek must have tracked her down while he was texting her----the prick. He couldn't have her back!
_____________________________________
She rolled her eyes with a tired smile and when Derek ordered two coffees, Zoe changed her order to an earl grey tea, she would get too wired with coffee and had slowly almost completely eased it out of her diet. She sat at the small table and said, "I don't know what kind it is, it's yellow. You can ask himself what the make is." she didn't tell him that Greed had more than one car. "Who cares about his money and his privilege? That's not really what I look for in a relationship, you ought to know." when her phone buzzed, she looked at the all caps text and texted back to Greed In the cafe in your building, having coffee with Derek-- did you know he's working with your company?
_____________________________________
"Yellow...yellow...that one?" He pointed at the only yellow eyesore in the parking lot, but as with everything else in Greed's wardrobe, it looked expensive. "Not your kind of guy." As if by being her first he knew better.
"Tea?" He sipped on his mocha chocolate iced coffee. "You're even drinking fancy." Greed made his way towards the stairs because the elevators were suddenly full. He was in my meeting! Don't move!
_____________________________________
Zoe didn't look to where Derek was pointing but gave him a look, "You don't know my type of guy, Derek. Maybe you did once but we all make mistakes." yes she was making a subtle dig that he had been a mistake. And he had. She wasn't with him anymore. "My earl grey is a hell of a lot less fancy than the six word drink you ordered." she looked at her phone and grimaced as she texted back Relax, it's just coffee (tea for me) I'll see you for a minute before I go since she didn't know if he was just going to work through lunch.
_____________________________________
"We were good together," he was trying to make his case not sure why it seemed to mattered, like he needed to compare himself with Greed. He swirled his straw around in his cup. "Was it really that bad?" They couldn't all be skinny ass Captain America.
Greed was in the middle of texting her back when he dropped his phone down the steps in his haste, so all Zoe got was, I just get a minutbjkla056?#
_____________________________________
Zoe gave him a sympathetic smile, "We were... young together. We weren't awful but we had so much growing up to do. And you know, you slept with that chick on your campus and we learned that long distance does not work no matter what the movies say." but she said it lightly, it was ancient history now and she was happy now with her real love, things that Derek or even Mike did in the past.. didn't really hurt all that much anymore. She excused herself again to look at her phone frowning and then texted back You said you were working? she didn't know what Greed expected her to do, sit in the lobby all the time so he could come out and see her whenever he wanted?
_____________________________________
Gimmie a minute!" Greed tried to say but his autocorrect chewed up his words into nonsense. He couldn't help but feel a little dejected. Did she have to go have coffee with that?
"We were young, but now we're older. The world keeps throwing us back in each other's lives." He took it as a sign.
Greed had a few more flights to go but his phone had just burned up and started to go black. The last time that happened the service tech told him he kept it on too much. So he had no way of telling Zoe he was on his way.
_____________________________________
Zoe had no idea what Greed was saying as his garbled text came through so she looked at Derek and sipped her tea, "OR the world just keeps showing me that I made the right choice with my current boyfriend.... who I don't have any plans to leave any time soon...."
_____________________________________
"Sounds as if you've had your share of issues with him?" As if anything he had to say would change her mind. It wouldn't.
Greed finally showed up with a pouty look on his face. "I dropped my phone," he almost whimpered. He liked that one.
_____________________________________
She sighed, "All relationships are work, all relationships have issues--" she looked over when Greed approached. Her mouth dropped open at his dishelved appearance and she reached a hand out to him, "What do they have you doing in the office??" she asked in surprise since he was sweating.
_____________________________________
Greed didn't explain yet, just took her tea as he was parched. Then he went about situating his tie, shirt and vest. He looked awful.
Derek gave Greed a wink that Zoe couldn't see. "That the redhead?" He motioned with a nod to the sticky note half hanging out of his pocket. From this angle, given the circumstances it looked rather suspicious.
Greed just pointed behind him, his tie still in it's perfect knot. "I took the stairs." Zoe had accused him already of infidelity via Envy's spell, but she'd know better.
_____________________________________
Zoe opened her mouth to protest but sighed and let Greed take her drink. She ignored Derek's less than subtle ribbing and stood up so she could help Greed fix his tie and shirt properly, "There's an elevator..." she pointed out. It looked even more suspicious that he'd take stairs when he didn't need to but she wasn't accusing him of anything.
_____________________________________
"It was full." She knew how thin his patience was. He couldn't help the curled up red strand of hair that fell off his shoulder. About that time where Greed had nowhere to go on the accusation, the elevator stopped, a group of stuffed shirts and ties coming out.
_____________________________________
Derek stood up and said, "Missed one." as he plucked another red hair off Greed's shoulder. He had a smirk that showed how little he thought of Zoe's choice and her relationship. He held the hair up so she could see, "Good catching up, I'll see you soon." since there was no way in hell she'd stay with this jerk much longer. Derek looked to Greed with a shit eating grin, "I'll tell the stairs you said hello." since come on, Greed totally fucked that girl before he came down, stairs his ass..
_____________________________________
"Don't trip going up," Greed barked willing down the arms of his coat fir any more lingering hairs. He wasn't going to say a word, he had no reason to be guilty, and Zoe knee him better. He wouldn't be able to stand right here if he had indeed fucked anybody that wasn't her. He couldn't help his boss smelled like she had dumped a bottle of perfume on, especially with big meeting days. One thing he didn't smell like was sex, so he wasn't going to jump on that issue. "Interesting choice of coffee date." His brows flattened. Derek wanted that now that he didn't have it, because when she had Greed with her she just looked that much more worthy to pluck.
_____________________________________
Zoe felt kinda humiliated and gave Greed a look, "Not that I need to explain myself.." because she would never cheat, "But I showed up to your office to pick you up for lunch like I said I would only to have you text and cancel and Derek had ambushed me in the lobby. I told him I was waiting for you but when you weren't coming, I had no way of getting out of a cup of coffee with him." but she was irked, he smelled like sweat and perfume and she hadn't kissed him hello.
_____________________________________
"He's a dick looking to get back in your pants." Greed couldn't blame him but the smugness made him ready to strangle, but he had to put on the big boy face for his job. He took off his jacket so he could fan out the sweat. This wasn't the suit for stinky armpits.
_____________________________________
"Maybe. But you know who gave him the idea? You." and she crossed her arms over her chest and gave him a look that if he wanted to be mad and miserable, it could be at himself.
_____________________________________
"What do you mean me? The guy is a slug, just mopping a trail behind me." He crossed his arms to match. She hasn't given him a kiss, hug, nothing.
_____________________________________
She sighed and tugged on his hand to get him to sit down. People just got more irritated and defensive standing up, "You know your 'fan mail'? How you don't think it's a big deal because you say you'll never call those women or fool around with them? But you just like keeping the notes?"
_____________________________________
"I keep things!" Or had she forgotten the monumental number of storage bins he had scattered around the country? He probably had things squirrelled around the world at various times that no one would find. Important stuff to Greed, because hoarding was an actual thing. Getting him to let go of anything had to take finesse to make it seem unappealing. He took a seat, still crossing his arms.
_____________________________________
"Yes.." she said calmly and tried to explain, "I know that and that's fine. But remember at the Christmas party when I explained that small actions say loud things? With the butt grab? This is the same thing. When you take that fan mail and keep it and encourage it, yes you're telling the girls you wanna fool around with them but really don't. But you're also telling the men 'hey my girlfriend isn't that important to me because look at how many women it looks like I'm screwing around with'. So when Derek sees you being flirty with some girl, he takes it as a greenlight to come tattle to me and be like SEE he doesn't care, but I would so dump him and be with me."
_____________________________________
He had that suprised look on his face, his mouth forming to a giant "o". He huffed a little in retaliation. This was hard! "So I'm being a big fat tease." That was how he understood it, and it put his girlfriend up for sale.
_____________________________________
She pried a hand of his free so she could hold it when it finally dawned on him, "Yes... to the ladies which is fine, I'm not gonna ever ask you to stop that." no matter how much it annoyed her sometimes, "But yeah, you just have to be prepared for the MEN to view it as open season on me."
_____________________________________
"But you're not up for sale." This was a lot he wasn't used to. A lot of effort and finding out about what a relationship really meant. "Is that why Derek stole you for lunch?"
_____________________________________
She sighed again, "No, I'm not.." not bothering to correct his language because it was how he viewed things, "But it's the message you're sending to guys. But you trust me not to do anything with them so it's okay, right?" just cause men sniffed around her didn't mean she'd go with any of them. She jiggled his hand, "He didn't steal me, he asked me, I said I was waiting for you, you canceled, and he was already there so I couldn't say no. And it was just ten minutes for some tea. But yes, your fan mail made him think that you aren't serious about me so it was okay to try to make a move."
_____________________________________
"He didn't like me in the first place. Fan mail and other girls just added to his hate. I've seen the way he snubs his nose at me, like he could really be better." Greed was definitely more handsome. He puffed those blonde bangs from his face. He did trust Zoe, but did he have to trust others?
_____________________________________
"He's always been like that.. it's one of the reasons why we didn't work out, he has this..." she tried to find the words and blew out a breath, "He just kinda tends to hate on people that have it better than he does." she leaned in and kissed his cheek, not wanting to do too much PDA since they were in the building of his work, "You don't like him either so that makes you guys even, right?"
_____________________________________
"He also doesnt like me because I'm white. I get that vibe." Greed probably coukd change his sex, race, whatever he wanted like his siblings but he was most successful with this face as a hunky male. If he were anything else he'd just be Lust or one of his other sibling and what was the fun in that? Greed usually didn't even think of race in the way Zoe saw it because it wasn't an issue. He took what he wanted, redhead or blonde, caramel or white or whatever.
_____________________________________
"Yeaaaaah... he kinda has this whole white man privilege thing he goes on about. He thinks it's not racist but it is and it bugs me, I'm a mix. I mean it's true to a certain degree but I'm not with you because you're white. Or have money. I'd be with you even if you were purple and poor." she squeezed his hand.
_____________________________________
"Purple?" he paused, his nose scrunched at the thought of being purple. "If I was purple I'd be Barney and that's so unattractive...." It was gag worthy. "I don't think anyone would be with me if I were purple."
_____________________________________
She smiled and wiggled his hand again, "I would." he was a gorgeous man for sure but it wasn't the reason she loved him.
_____________________________________
"You'd fuck a grape?" He turned his head to the side. Was she crazy? She had to be.
_____________________________________
She grinned and smacked him, "I'd fuck you." he didn't seem to get that these outrageous statements applied only to him.
_____________________________________
"But I'd be a grape! How is that sexy?" He was completely serious. He was worried about her standards and if she'd just let them piss out the window. "Do you really want me to be purple?" The beard was strange enough for him, now he needed to be an alien?
_____________________________________
She let out a frustrated noise and threw her hands up, putting them on his cheeks to hold his cute face in place as she stared into his eyes, "Because you'd be YOU. I don't want you to be purple but if somehow you became purple, I wouldn't care, I'd still want to be with you because I love you, you idiot." yes she said the L word and it was in public and at his office and it was probably the worst place to say it but he wasn't getting it!
_____________________________________
"I don't like purple..." he whispered, those baby blue eyes honed in on hers, unmoving, unwavoring from her gaze. He swallowed because while her eyes spoke love, the words made him a little itchy. Her grip kept him still and he somehow got lost in those big, soft brown eyes of hers.
_____________________________________
She chuckled, "I'm gonna buy you nothing but purple stuff from now on.." her eyes were shining in a way that no other person on the planet made them twinkle, she just had that look whenever she looked at him. But she dropped her hands, not wanting to accidentally embarrass him if his boss came into the cafe.
_____________________________________
"Why would you be so cruel?" When his face was no longer a prisoner to her hands he mangled her mouth with his. For a moment. He had to. Those lips wee just being for it. It was also payback for such a horrible future in nothing but purple.
_____________________________________
She didn't get to reply since he smooched her with a ninja kiss but she grinned afterwards. "That was decidedly not professional." she teased as she wagged a finger a him, "Wanna get a hotdog?" since he was there but they didnt have time for lunch lunch and she didn't want to risk running into Derek again without him.
_____________________________________
"That's what you get for threatening me in purple. That was payback." It gave the people nearby an eyeful and a chance to turn their head from embarrassment. "You want hotdogs?" He sounded excited.
_____________________________________
"If that way payback I should threaten you with purple more often. Lots of purple. Purple polka dots even." she stood up and held out a hand to him, "Of course, don't you?" like it was crazy to NOT want a hot dog. She was a pretty simple girl at heart. Derek might rightly assume that Greed could afford fancy meals, but it didnt mean he and Zoe TOOK fancy meals. She was happy enough eating at a hot dog cart as long as it was with Greed.
_____________________________________
Greed's face got serious, his lips a thin flat line. "Don't. You. Dare. I hate polka dots more than I do purple." The talk of food redeemed her to a point, but she had a ways to go. He stood with her, taking his jacket off the back of the chair and putting it back on so they could get some food before his stomach ran away from him.
_____________________________________
She grinned at how dramatic he was but then made a mock confused face, "Sooooooo you're saying I should wear purple polka dots?" the second they were out of the building she put her arm around his trim waist and fit into his side as they walked down the street.
_____________________________________
She fit so snug under his arm and against his waist, like she was always made to hide in that spot. "You wear polka dots I'm ending this here and now...." Whomever had invented that blasted print was delusional. It was what one put on clowns, not people. Not well dressed people anyway.
_____________________________________
She pressed her cheek to his chest for a moment, highly amused, "I had no idea you had such a hatred of polka dots... I've worn them before." she scrunched up her nose and looked at him, "You like my freckles, thats kinda like polka dots?"
_____________________________________
"No that's like fucking glitter. Polka dots are much more fat and ugly. Who wears that shit anymore?" He kept her snug, glued under his arm even as they got to the street vendor. The dogs smelled good, fresh buns and hot hot dogs. Best. Lunch. Ever.
_____________________________________
Zoe rocked back and forth on the balls of her feet as they waited in the short line to get the food, "I do! I have two polka dot shirts I think.. what if a magic potion made me break out in purple polka dots all over?" she looked at him, "Would you break up with me?"
_____________________________________
"Are you planning on turning into a purple fairy any time soon?" He was suddenly very worried. What was she not telling him? He took his hot dogs, unhooking his arm from around her shoulders so he could stuff it in his mouth. This conversation was getting seriously worrisome.
_____________________________________
She chuckled, "NO, I'm asking if I did tho, would you leave me? How important are my body and looks to you anyways?" she furrowed a brow and took her own hot dog to bite into it. She wasn't asking in a mean way, she was curious.
_____________________________________
"I don't know how big would those dots be?" He made his fingers squish together, "like tiny," he opened them up a little wider, "or BIG?" This was a difficult question for him. He stuffed his face with another big bite to avoid answering because he was still battling this out in his head and he did not have a definitive answer yet.
_____________________________________
She narrowed her eyes and said, "BIG." she took a big bite and chewed, watching him. She wasn't going to be young and beautiful forever, her age would become as repulsive as polka dots one day.
_____________________________________
He couldn't fit that entire hotdog in his mouth but he sure as hell tried so that when he spoke the words came out mumbled hidden between meat and bread. He didn't want this conversation right now, it was ruining his whole mood.
_____________________________________
She kissed his puffed out cheek, "Nice save but you know by not answering the question, you answered the question." but she wasn't mad, it was just one of the facts of their relationship. But for a brief fleeting moment the thought that Derek would love her if she had big polka dots did pop into her head. Just for a split second. Polka dots still meaning age of course.
_____________________________________
It was hard to swallow that lump of hotdog when she spoke and he had chill down his spine. Why did it feel like he was wrong for being so vain? He'd run into this before with her, Envy had pulled a lot of punches when he dragged out her feelings and put them on display to the surface. It seemed like there was a lot more out there than their little pretend world. He didn't like the real world getting involved it totally fucked things up. "You want someone that won't be like me..." he swallowed it finally, finding that it burned all the way down his throat.
_____________________________________
She looked at the retarded puppy dog in front of her and shook her head, "No, I want you. Snobby, selfish, vain, arrogant, you." she finished her hot dog and wiped her hands, "In spite of polka dots, I still want you. In spite of trying not to, I'll always want you. Even when you won't want me." she couldn't escape him. She'd tried but she was more miserable without him than she'd ever be with him.
_____________________________________
Greed wasn't content with that, it just didn't roll off his back as well as he expected. She was speaking truth, it was the words he wanted to hear because this conversation was turning into one he didn't want to have but it wasn't what he'd expected to her. He was losing his appetite over this. Damn these fucking feelings. Seriously. "Now I just sound like a shallow asshole." He flipped his head to the sky with a loud groan and stomp of his foot. She'd not only opened his eyes to fantastic things, but she opened him up to dealing with things like a human being.

She was surprised, "But... you are a shallow asshole." she frowned when he threw a fit, "You've never had a problem with it before, what's the matter?" and despite it she still loved him, she had told him she wouldn't make him change, she'd accept him for the most part (she was still working on a few things).

"I. Don't. Know." he stomped his feet a second time with another begrudging sigh. "I am a tool, I'm an asshole and I'm vain and shallow and yes I love that." He took another breath, looking back to her. "I'm also not full of the things you can get out there--" he waved his arm about wrapping up his hotdog for later because right now food was nasty. Derek was there as a big bright beacon to remind her of the things she could have with a normal boy. While he was a prejudiced ass, he also could grow old with her. Greed hated wrinkles and if he ever saw one on himself he'd choke, but it was something he couldn't do.

She still stood in shock as he had his temper tantrum, "Full of what things that I can get out where?" he wasn't making sense.

Greed gave her an 'are you serious' face. He pointed again, "Like like fucking meatball Derek who is sniffing around now." Greed didn't realize that natural greediness he excreted to the world, especially when she was happy and he was happy just drew in the rest of the world. He looked like an idiot fuming about things that only an immortal could, "Wrinkles and old age and that kind of thing. Things that make you human." He looked so distressed over the situation. This was why he didn't want to bring up this topic.

She kinda gave him a lopsided smile, "And you think I'd trade you in for him?" she took his hand even if he didn't want to give it. "There are things that make you human too, you know. And yes, Derek could give me wrinkles but he can't give me happiness, that's something you give me. He can give me old age, but not his heart. He can give me things you can't, I won't deny it, but there is so much more you can give me than he just wouldn't understand or ever be capable of." she wasn't going to leave Greed, the thought wasn't in her head ever. Never seriously anyways.

"I dunno you might! You might one day think you need all that more than me...." which was heartbreaking for Greed. He didn't let people let him go, Josie did and she was the first. It wasn't like when a person let their virtues win out over sin, or they tried to 'tame' their sins or even get rid of them---they couldn't they were always there latched on it was how deep one was willing to go with them. This was different, this was Greed latching on and hoping he didn't get dropped first. That was a vulnerable, scary feeling, something he'd had only one other time in his life and it had nearly knocked the wind right out of him.

She squeezed his hand and brought it to her chest, squishing it between their bodies as she put her free arm around his waist, "I will never need anything more than I need love and trust. Two things you can't find or give easy in this world. And I have them with you. I didn't have them with Derek or Mike or anyone else. Just you." she said the words sincerely and firmly while looking in his eyes. These were basic human things but only a Sin was providing them for her.

"Seems pretty backwards doesn't it since I am what I am." He liked being the one and only in something. The only one to have it. For once, he was the only of his kind to have it, and that made it amazing.
_____________________________________
She gave him a look, "I don't know if you've noticed but we're pretty ass backwards about most things." she dipped her head so she could place a kiss on their joint hands while keeping her eyes on his, "So, do you wanna keep questioning it or do you wanna kiss me?"
_____________________________________
"I have." She was his one of a kind girl. He drew one brow up at her question. He supposed she deserved a kiss.

When the jerk just raised his bushy brow at her, she grinned, "Asshole." she dropped his hand only to grab him by the fronts of his jacket and yank him down to her mouth so she could kiss him. He took way too long to think about it and she wanted a kiss.

He laughed flipping his head back until she grounded him with the jerk of her hands on his collar. His lips were her captive, completely okay with them being a slave to her mouth.
_____________________________________
She normally didn't do big PDA's out in public, she was getting used to smaller ones but she wanted him to know that he was worth a million Derek's. Her hands slipped from his jacket to around his neck and she kept kissing him till he'd feel that burn that only she gave him. When the kiss broke she stuck her tongue out at him like a little kid going nyah.

His lips were numb by the time she had scared them with her burn. It felt so good though, that tingle from his head to his toes. He was electrocuted each time and his sick mind liked it now.

She was still grinning, "Am I the only person that can render you literally speechless?" because the guy LOVED to talk but when she kissed him, half the time he had a look on his face that he couldn't remember how to form words. And she loved it.
_____________________________________
"Who says I'm speechless?" It was true her mouth tended to stop his motor functions for a few minutes but it wasn't permanent. Not yet at least. His brain just had to take a moment to recharge itself and keep going in that endless speedball track it was on. She was one of few that actually let him successfully say just about every word in his head and then successfully pushed the pause button which hit rewind before it could play again. That was her magic.

She narrowed her eyes with a smile, "You were silent a second ago." she smooched his lips a couple of times, "It's creepy when you're quiet anyways." she untangled her arms from around his neck, she knew he had to head back soon.
_____________________________________
"That was a second ago." He snuck in another kiss. "I promise I won't be quiet tonight." He let her cheeks
pink so he could waltz back into work. At least with her he was king over everything. Greed owned more than any man could imagine and he rocked that with pride.
