Humans, it turned out, were still drawn to the predator inside him. Somehow, somewhere they noticed he wasn't fully human and it appealed to them. At least, such was his experience with Jessie. He'd neither pressed nor ran to quickly at her, sensing her hesitations and laying in wait for the right moment to strike.
Hati was a very good predator and this was nothing new. He found her appealing in ways he did not find Greta appealing. He had no desire to bring her into the pack, but he did want to see this through to the end.
He'd waited for her return, watching the other humans around. For amusement, he'd cowed a few males already and one looked ready for a challenge. Any day else, and Hati would teach him the error of his ways.
He looked up as Jessie returned and smiled at her before tilting his head at her question. Interesting. "I think, I would like that very much." He set his hand over hers. "I'm in no rush though."
