She was being crazy, which he could understand but homeless psycho out there or not he wasnt going to stay in this apartment any longer. The ride to his place felt cold and silent, so he turned off the ignition and was ready for that walk she'd promised earlier. Already the clouds over his head felt lighter, less claustrophobic, less dooming. _____________________________________ She got out of the car and wrapped her arms around herself. She didn't bother with her bag because she wasn't thinking about it and really, she had enough stuff at his place that she wouldn't need it till tomorrow. She just took a deep breath of the cool night air and leaned back against the car, letting her thoughts prey on her. _____________________________________ Well, the quiet Zoe was just unbearable. Greed quickly grabbed her hand and jerked her off the car and started to walk. He was setting the pace because if he let her go she'd just drag behind him with that dumb look on her face. When she still didn't smack, poke or look at him he took desperate measures and crunched her into a hug, pushing her back against his chest and curling around her tightly. Now she would have to walk with a Greed monkey on her back. _____________________________________ She blinked when he yanked her hand and started to walk but soon settled into her funk again but didn't pull away. She never had any idea what he was doing sometimes and suddenly was in a Greed trap. "Channnnnce..." she whined. "What're you doing?" she wriggled around in his grip. _____________________________________ "I'm taping you to me, so start walking." He wasn't letting her out. "When you stop looking like someone drowned a puppy I'll let you go." It perhaps wasn't his best analogy, not since he actually kicked her puppy not an hour ago, but he was desperate to make her not look like the world was over. He was feeling better since they got away from the apartment, he wasn't hanging in that dark, gloomy cloud, but it seemed to have transferred over to her and it was gross. _____________________________________ She ugh'd but did start walking even though it was difficult, "Someone kicked my puppy and cut up my clothes and was in my room and now I can't even sleep in my own bed tonight." not that they'd been planning on it, they were heading out anyway but it was the principle of the thing. It was looking like he'd have to hold on for awhile. _____________________________________ "Waaa waaaa waaaa," he poked fun at her because he wanted her to get it all out. "Done? Cause I'm done with you being a whimpering blob." He had done the same, but whatever had ahold of him in the air of her apartment, be it Jonah or something else was completely gone. "We done with this self-loathing?" He knew she lost her things, and his own would feel like his right arm just sliced off at the shoulder. He'd cry for days but he still had something special even when he lost a lot. Greed always had one thing to cling to. Right now that was Zoe. Right now she was a mess and he wasn't going to let her drown in tears because it just wasn't fair. She could work those tears and puppy eyes so much better than he could. "Your puppy will survive, I can get you a bazillion new clothes, maybe your grandfather even has something stashed on his boat that you can call it vintage, and you have a perfectly good bed to sleep on tonight." _____________________________________ She stiffened when he made fun of her, "No, I'm not done, if you're done with me then you can let me go." she struggled in his arms, wanting out, "I don't want new clothes, I want my clothes, and my bed. You of all people should understand that." her tone accusatory and hurt. _____________________________________ "So you don't want my bed or me is that it?" He didn't care if they slept on a blanket on the floor, he'd make himself her bed if she would stop being so ridiculously sad and torn up. He was going to let her let out all the fumes so there was nothing left to light later.
