"Yes, because that's so me," he deadpanned, unwinding his scarf and hanging up his coat. "Collect all the people."
Roxanna kept back from the new woman, looking around from her post near the door. She liked the look of some of the things on the shelves, but it made her feel the same way entering a housewares department did: like if she breathed on something wrong, it would fall and shatter.
"Up the street," she said in answer. "He said something about coffee, and I didn't get to finish mine at lunch."
"She also told me she'd punch me if I tried something funny," Hypnos added.
Roxanna snorted. "So far, so good," she said, finally cracking a small smile.
