At his words she smiled, biting her lip to try and hide how touched she suddenly felt. "It has been," she admitted, "a really long time since any guy wanted to impress me. And," she added warmly, eyes on his, "I love venison."
"Oh god, don't go, stay in here where it's warm." She led him over to one of the few booths in the shop - they were mostly a takeaway deal. "I've got only about forty minutes left and then I'll be all yours. You want coffee? Nothing fancy, just the instant stuff we've got out back, sorry."
