He did listen, but he did not think she did. She heard him, sure, but there was a difference between that and listening. He would see where it led. "You don't seem to show anything towards my daughter, either." He made the distinction clear. Both Melinoe and Makaria were his, despite blood, despite anything else.
"She doesn't know you Demeter, and I suggest for you to change that. Makaria doesn't know if she should." He sighed, "there's about a dozen too many shades for me to believe any Olympian doesn't hold grudges over something as simple as blood. Blame Hera for that one." It was only right to shift blame there. So many innocents had suffered from Hera's wrath.
"I don't expect miracles. Just give it a shot. I did last spring and it all worked out wonderful."
