WHO: Charity & Lucifer WHEN: Saturday afternoon WHERE: Lucifer's apartment WHAT: I bought cookies! :D WARNINGS: tba, who even knows with Lucifer.
As a Virtue Charity could no more enter Hell than the Sins could enter Heaven, so to visit any of the downstairs folk in their home habitat was completely off the table. But Lucifer apartment in Manhattan was another thing completely.
She arrived at the Morningstar's door with a plate of baking in her hands and rang the bell, waiting patiently on the other side of the door with a smile on her face as she hoped that he was home.
Lucifer barely ever bothered with opening his own door. He had servants for that. So a man who was clearly not a man opened the door and seemed a bit surprised at the Virtue on the other side. But those within Lucifer's legion's knew better then to question the Lord's demands.
With half a bow he let her in, motioning her to the study. Lucifer looked to her when she entered, "making house calls now Love?" With a wave his minions dispersed. Then he rose to look at the plate, "I do love your baking. There a reason?"

At the fallen angel she smiled brightly and then held out the plate of heart and polar bear cookies.
"No reason at all," the Virtue told him happily. "Just being friendly."

"Take a seat, please."

[info]endureth_all 2011-07-23 06:59 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "I hope they're good," Charity told him as she sat down. "The last time I used this recipe Wrath kicked me out of his apartment and told me that if he ever saw me again he'd murder me." She laughed brightly. "But then that's to be expected of Wrath, isn't it?"

[info]dawnstar 2011-07-23 07:05 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select He raised an eyebrow to that before finishing the cookie. "I like it. And yes that is Wrath. I'm sure he meant it well." He may have every sin within him, but he couldn't understand them. "Besides he'd never murder you. Your opposites. One can't run without the other."

[info]endureth_all 2011-07-23 07:12 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "No, he can't murder Patience," Charity considered out loud and still with a smile. "I'm sure he'd have no qualms about strangling me, although so far I've managed to avoid it, thanks to the Grace of God." She beamed and reached out toward the plate for one of the hearts she'd given to him. "May I?"

[info]dawnstar 2011-07-23 07:18 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select He waved his hand, "I keep missing who's opposite of who nowadays. Oh right. You're Greed's. Well still if he murders you I may have to get a little annoyed at him. I quite like you." Then he shrugged, "They are your cookies Charity. You hardly have to ask."

[info]endureth_all 2011-07-23 07:32 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "Greed rather wants to murder me as well much of the time," Charity said without much worry about the idea. "He won't, but the idea must cross his mind constantly."
When Lucifer admitted to having a fondness for Charity - even though it was likely of the evil would-like-to-lock-her-in-a-box-and-defile-her sort - she smiled warmly, touched at what was probably the closest the fallen angel could show to affection anymore. (A great sadness that was, because Above they had had such lovely times together.)
"No, they are your cookies," Charity corrected him as she took one. "It's only polite I ask." She bit into it and tucked some of her loose dark locks behind her ear.

[info]dawnstar 2011-07-23 07:59 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select He raised his eyebrow, then shrugged. In truth if there was an advantage to killing Charity, he would do it. He'd prefer to break her first, but he would still kill her. "As you say. I can't Sins. I indulge in them and feed them, sure, but I can't get them."
He scoffed, "if they were my cookies they'd be filled with virgin's blood and the tears of innocents. You made them, so they are yours. Besides, I'm not fond of sharing."

[info]endureth_all 2011-07-23 08:05 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "I don't think any of my recipe books call for those ingredients..." Charity said, pondering the half cookie in her hand before popping it into her mouth.
"And you're sharing your company with me right now," Charity pointed out, although she knew that wasn't what he meant.

[info]dawnstar 2011-07-23 08:16 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select He laughed to that, "you won't find it in any recipe books Charity. It's a personal recipe." He smirked, "yes well. My company is rather nice. I wouldn't deprive anyone of the gloriousness that is me."

[info]endureth_all 2011-07-23 08:25 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "You can be rather pleasant when you choose to be," Charity nodded, setting her hands gently in her lap as she watched him. "Sometimes it's almost like the old days again."
Probably only Charity could love wholeheartedly the embodiment of evil and claim he was pleasant company.

[info]dawnstar 2011-07-23 08:29 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select Everybody else would get a nice treatment of Hellfire for that. He didn't like to be reminded of the 'old days', and all the things he'd lost. But Charity was different. "Only you." He reached down to pick up a bottle of wine and two glasses, pouring her one. "Just wine. Pinky promise." He winked at her, "And of course I'm still wonderful company. Few agree though."

[info]endureth_all 2011-07-25 12:31 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "One glass," Charity nodded and took it happily. She had no problem with drinking alcohol. It had little effect on her and was an accepted social convention among the humans, one that didn't go against God's laws.
After taking a sip she said to him, "those people obviously don't know you as well as I do."

[info]dawnstar 2011-07-25 03:42 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select He laughed, sipping from his own glass. "Or they know me better then you know me Love. Admit that I've changed. I half imagine you still see portions of the old me, something that's long gone. They see the Prince of Hell. I do so wonder what you see sometimes."
Smiling he leaned back into his seat, "there is no back. Only forward."

[info]endureth_all 2011-07-25 04:00 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select Charity looked at Lucifer with interest. "Do you think that I don't recognize that you are not the same as you once were?" she asked, honestly curious.
Her tone was more serious now as they spoke of these things and she put her glass down. "Lucifer, I can assure you that when I look at you I don't see the angel I once knew in the Kingdom. He is long dead and there is no return for him. When I look at you I see the worst of the Fallen, a demon that wears a beautiful face while he lies and murders. Love may be blind, but it is not completely a fool. Your choice was made long ago and I was there to see it."

[info]dawnstar 2011-07-25 04:18 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select He grinned, "just checking pet. You know what I've always wondered though? If the choosing gave me free will, or the free will gave me the choosing? I was the First to question, the First to say no. Not even Satan asked first. He just made me ask. Funny how that goes. And I hardly think I'm the worst of the lot. Personal opinion though." He shrugged to that.

[info]endureth_all 2011-07-25 05:12 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "The question of free will is one I don't feel qualified to answer," Charity said as she picked up her wine glass again. "You always were special though, even from the beginning. I knew great things would become of you." Charity's small smile was both fond and sad.

[info]dawnstar 2011-07-25 05:17 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select He laughed, "because you don't know, or you don't have any to answer it with." He rolled his eyes, "yes I suppose everyone's disappointed at what I've done and accomplished. And what I was, was in the way Charity. Stars never needed a sheepherder."
"Hey funny irony. I don't have a star, only a planet. And that one is nothing but gas and fire. Kind of like Hell. Pretty obvious I think."

[info]endureth_all 2011-07-25 05:57 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "I have no answer to it because I don't know," Charity said easily as she sipped her wine. She wasn't supposed to have the answers. "I'm only a part of the humans, after all." She had no answers to any of his other thoughts either. His role would only ever confuse her if she spent too much time thinking of it, because she had not been built to question or to do anything but love infinitely, but that she did better than anyone else.
"And what a beautiful planet it is," Charity smiled brightly. "The second brightest object in the sky. Very fitting."

[info]dawnstar 2011-07-25 06:06 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "Pity I don't take too well to beyond second to anything." With a shrug he lit a cigarette before offering her th pack. He doubted she smoked, but he did have some politeness in him.
"Such a pity. Being a true part of them, being their dark shadow, has some fun to it. At least for me. I've often remarked how cruel this whole game is, but I'll play it."
