Who: Perseus and Deirdre of the Sorrows Where: Her place What: 'Oh this Holiday is a thing' When: Valentine's Warnings: TBD, possible sexy timez
The only real way Deirdre knew the holiday had come around was because of the explosion of hearts and pink in the stores. She'd been confused, keeping track of days meant counting when the sun rose and set, of when exactly the day was supposed to happen but most people around her spoke of it and she'd always been good at listening. Less good with putting it all together. She'd shrugged it aside, picked up dinner for her and Gandalf and went back to the apartment. Both her housemates were somewhere else and so Deirdre decided to eat in front of the television.
She'd switched to some channel where they spoke about hunting crocodiles in one of the southern states, she'd gotten tired of the shows about the day and the movies, when the knock came. She knew it was no one new or bad, as Gandalf never barked at anyone he knew, so she rose with some reluctance and straightened her shirt. She'd seen no reason to dress differently from the usual casual clothing she wore.
When she opened the door and spotted Perseus she grinned. Seeing him always brightened her day, even if she'd been remarkably Sorrow-free for the past few weeks, so she stepped back to let him in. "I didn't expect to see you. I don't know if there's much left but I have some dinner." She liked feeding people. She'd always been at every hunt, but cooking was a joy. She was even tempted to join a class for it. It certainly couldn't hurt.
Perseus grinned a silly grin and then he presented her with the ridiculously pink box of heart-shaped chocolates he had just purchased on his way here. "Happy very pink day!" Perseus said with a chuckle. He didn't understand the idea of having one day to show you loved someone, but he felt like being silly.
"I don't need anything, I just wanted to surprise you!"
She blinked then smiled and took the box. "Thank you. And yes, I wasn't too sure what to make off all of it." She wasn't really a fan of pink, but this she appreciated. Maybe because it came from him.
Smiling she kissed him before letting him in. "Well it is a wonderful surprise." She set the box down and unwrapped it, smiling to the assortment. "I have something for you as well, although now I'll have to find it."
He watched her open the chocolates and then he smiled as she mentioned she had something for him. "For me?" Perseus didn't need anything except her company but he wasn't going to turn something down.
She nodded, then smirked. "No your twin." Her sense of humor was odd sometimes but she shook her head and motioned him along. Her dog happily followed her into her room to jump on the bed and she just sighed.
The room was simple but she kicked a few of her clothes under the bed. Then she went through her nightstand before she found the box. "There you are." Smiling she patted her bed, "come sit." She wasn't sure how he would take the gift but if this was a day for presents it seemed fitting. It wasn't horribly pink but she didn't think he'd like it.
Perseus sat down beside her grinning widely. He didn't need presents, but he did like them!
She bit her lip for a moment before setting the box in his hands. "Here," she waited for him to open in. Inside was a bronze torc. She gave a nervous smile. "Chieftains wore this." She glanced to her fingers, "it's not fully the same but close enough." She gave him a smile and a look, "and you said you were a King once. I hope you like it."
He opened the present and when he saw the torc his eyes widened. "It's great!" he said as she explained the significance of it. "I love it!" He looked up and her and then he leaned over to kiss her cheek. "Thank you, Deirdre."
She gave a bright smile to the kiss, glad he didn't hate it. She'd thought for a long time about it, wondering if it was right or not. "You're welcome. I'm glad you like it." Still smiling she set her hands on her lap.
She waited for a moment before shaking her head, "I like you. A lot. I know this is a bit random, but you're a constant." Smiling she leaned against his shoulder, "and cute."
Random or not, Perseus was glad to hear it. "I like you a lot too," he admitted. "And I am happy to be a constant. And cute!"
Laughing she shook her head and moved off her bed. "Alright less awkward from me and more enjoying the day. Although I am happy you didn't get me anything too pink." Smiling she offered her hand. "we can find something to do if you like?"
