WHO: Lil & Thomas Kemp
WHEN: Late Saturday night
WHERE: Thomas' house
WHAT: Partying a little too hard for the wee Kemplet.
WARNINGS: Talk of drug use, attempted sexual assault
Little wasn't sure what she'd taken, but she knew that the world was overly spinny. She sat in the front seat of a car that rolled forward along a snaking highway, twisting and delighting beneath hissing tires. The plan had been that she'd go home with out of the other girls from the club, but when the car stopped moving and Little forced her eyes open it was only herself and the driver in it. She'd had friends, hadn't she? More friends than this? She didn't really know the driver, although she'd met him at a few parties. He was someone's cousin? Or brother? Or classmate? She hadn't really paid attention when the connection had been made, but he seemed cool enough to Little. He was older so he bought a lot of alcohol for them, and he knew a lot of dealers it seemed.
"Where's Rose?" Little asked, sitting up a little uneasily.
"Dropped her home," the driver said, looking over at her.
"Oh," Little said with a frown, pressing her face to the window. "She was my bed."
"I've got a bed," the driver suggested, touching her hair.
"I've got a bed too," Little said, still pressed to the glass. "But it's not here. Where is here?"
"Near my place. We could go back there if you want?"
"I'm supposed to stay with Rose. She's my bed."
"You'll be okay," the driver told her, and touched her arm. "I can find you somewhere to sleep."
Little turned back to look at him, lying heavy against the car seat. "Can you call Rose?"
"I don't have her number."
"Oh." Little blinked, heavy and slow. Well, if he didn't have her number he couldn't call her. That was unfortunate. "Maybe I'll go home. Mom might be mad though."
"You don't need to go home," the driver said, and leaned in towards her a little more. "You can come back to my place."
Little frowned deeply and then shook her head, an action that made her dizzy. "I shouldn't. What's your name?"
"Bobby," Little repeated. "I once knew a boy called Bobby."
And then Bobby kissed her and Little thought, Oh. This is happening now, I guess. She didn't really want it to happen but everything felt so heavy and Bobby felt so insistent. If Rose was here she'd probably tell him to fuck off, but Rose wasn't here. Where was Rose again? She was supposed to go to Rose's house tonight. Her hands stayed limp at her sides as Bobby kissed her and Little found she didn't really have the ability to ask him to stop kissing her. Maybe if she just waited he'd stop. She'd just wait.
His arm wrapped itself into her hair and his other one moved down her body, parting her thighs easily. Little felt like a ragdoll but she was starting to think that Bobby was just going to keep going. So she turned her head with a small sound of annoyance and broke the kiss. Bobby just started kissing her neck, his hand quickly moving up beneath her skirt. His fingers made her body shudder and for a moment it was sort of nice but it was also sort of not nice and Little didn't like this very much at all anymore. "No," she muttered, managing to reach for his hand, "stop that. Don't want to."
"It's okay," Bobby told her, and stroked her hair.
"Not okay," Little said with a shake of her head, reaching for the car door. "I don't wanna."
"Come on," he said, trying to put his hand inside her skirt again. Little didn't like that though. (Or was it that she didn't like that she liked it? Was that it? There was something about it she didn't like and she wasn't sure she liked Bobby very much either.)
"Hey," she said, shoving at his hand. "Hey, I don't want it. I want Rose. Where's Rose?"
"I told you-"
"I want Rose!" She shrieked it and Bobby pulled back away from her quickly, clearly shocked by her sudden vehemence. Then she pointed a finger at him (or sort of in his direction) and said, "I don't like you touching me."
Bobby rolled his eyes and said "fine" as he put his hands back on the wheel. "Let's just-"
But whatever he said to her next was lost because Little had already pulled the car door open and started running. She heard him calling after her, but she didn't turn back. It was very important that she run run run away to somewhere, maybe to find Rose.
But it wasn't long until she started wheezing, her lungs tight and cold. She didn't even have her inhaler on her and right now she really wanted it. What if she had a proper asthma attack and died out here? She sat down on the side of the road and tried to breathe properly but it was hard and why didn't she bring her inhaler? She should have brought it.
But she had her phone. A phone wasn't an inhaler but it did other things. With her blurry eyes she scrolled through the names and then picked the one she knew would be best. Wheezing, Little listened to it ring.
