WHO: Solene & Columba
WHEN: Sunday mid-morning
WHERE: A church in Manhattan
WHAT: Hey! Hey! It's you!
For Solene, Sunday meant church, meant a time to repent for her greatest sin that could never be taken back. The Devil had made sure of that in his visits to her since she arrived: Lucifer and Satan, the monsters that held her contract.
She was still shaken by them and by that glimpse of Hell that Satan had showed her, something that had made her even more terrified of her end that was coming far too quickly.
And so it was prayer and time spent in churches - because at least in church she was fairly sure demons and devils couldn't touch her.
This morning after service she made her way outside, pulling on her jacket and stepping out into the sunlight. For a moment, among the crowded street, she thought she saw a familiar profile and did a double take, trying to find them again. But it had just been her imagination. He wasn't here with her.
But then... there he was! She wasn't imagining this. Columba was standing on the side of the street and looking down at his phone. She rushed through the people towards him, and hugged him without warning. "Columba! You're here!" she said in hurried French, with a wave of relief. She pulled out of the hug as quickly as she'd began it and kept hold of his arm instead. "I can't believe you're here but thank god that you are. They've already found me here, Columba. Satan came into my home and Lucifer approached me in the park, and I've seen visions of Hell and I've never felt so scared and alone."
