WHO: Hel & Jörmungandr
WHEN: Friday night
WHERE: Hel's apartment
WHAT: monster sibling love times
These days, Helheim ran on it's own. From America it received no new souls - no one believing hard enough in the old religion deserved the icy fate of the land below Yggdrasil, it seemed. But today had made Hel wonder if it was time she returned there to rule, if only for a short time. (Short, comparatively speaking. Time passed differently below, so who could tell how long any visit there would last?)
She didn't much want to go below. It was cold and dreary and her brothers wouldn't be there, but no mortals there asked her if she wanted to go sing Christmas songs with them and spread seasonal cheer. That wasn't supposed to be how it went at all. She had been a Dread Queen. Mortals had feared her. It wasn't quite that she had enjoyed being feared - enjoyment wasn't a part of her job - it was just that it was the way it was meant to be.
These things she considered in front of her laptop, switching tabs between talking to her snake-brother and reading a recent study on American death rates. When she saw that Jörmungandr was coming to see her, she quietly closed the lid of her laptop. A maggot dropped from the rotten side of her face onto the table and squirmed, clearly displeased to have suddenly lost its delicious home.
