The trick about any good opium den was to make it look as little like an opium den as promised. So her little place of business was publicly advertised as a hooka bar. Those who knew of what it truly was paid a cover at the entrance, and any products she sold she split the profits with Jacob easily. It was a wonderful arrangement, mostly because she could see Jacob often, and get new people in and out. Sometimes for just hooka, sometimes for more.
She'd lured someone here on the promise of calligraphy, and she'd provide. There would just be the hint of other things, but she wouldn't push. In that, she was unlike her children. Hers was the promise, not the push. Her other business wasn't advertised around her either, just a sweet smell that could be explained by hooka tobacco. She'd had some music playing too, all to offer a relaxed atmosphere.
When the man showed up she could tell he was mortal. She was dressed simply, but elegantly. "Welcome." Smiling she extended her hands. "So nice to see you."
