"It's okay, Kayla," Polyxena soothed, bouncing the baby girl up and down as she gave Hector a stern look.
"That Achilles, yes," she said, holding her head high. "I know what happened in the past, but there's no reason to be stuck in it. We both have new lives now and he makes me happy." He had demanded her life, and to be honest, it sounded better than being a spoil of war. She had gone willingly and been spared all that. She had second life now, and holding grudges for nothing wasn't like her.
"I know he took off before, but I don't believe he will this time. And," she added, "even if he does I am still going to have this baby."
