Helios had been in the kitchen when Rhode bellowed for him to go. He'd been preparing for months for this, but it wasn't like the old days. There were no servants, no people to crowd and look after her right away. Helios had not been a husband or a father in centuries, no amount of preparing could ready him for that jolt of adrenaline.
It was a few days early for Rhode, but he was her strength, her Titan. Carrying her to the car was easy. Keeping her calm until they got to the hospital was another thing.
