WHO: Agatha & Judas WHEN: Tuesday night WHERE: Theirher apartment. WHAT: Practicing for their remake of The Odd Couple WARNINGS: probably language, dirty thoughts, general Judasness that Agatha disapproves of.
Judas had been living with her since early December and sometimes Agatha had to lock herself in the bathroom and repeat to herself that to be Christian was to be Christ-like and to be Christ-like was to love and accept and forgive. Judas was sometimes utterly exhausting to her.
She wouldn't kick him out though, because she was a Saint and her place was to give to those that needed it. She had spent her whole immortal life giving all that she had, even to her own pain. What Martyr could resist that constant need to martyr themselves?
So she looked after him. She made sure he ate enough, made sure he didn't drink too much, made sure he slept and showered and generally pretended to be a human being. She tried to help him get a job - because she worried about him alone all day when was at her hospital placement - but it never got further than a first interview, if it got there at all.
Tonight she got home and the apartment was dark and silent. She frowned and entered, flicking the switch and found that Judas was home, but just sitting with the lights out. She wrinkled her nose. "Is that marijuana?" she asked him.
"Yup," Judas replied, not bothering to try and hide it. Why should he? She wanted to mother him and he could not be arsed making it easier on her. He offered her the joint, knowing she'd never accept it, but he perversely enjoyed making her squirm. Not that he'd push it, but deep down he wanted her to wrinkle her nose at him and put it out. It just reinforced everything he thought about himself anyway.

I would prefer if you didn't either." She came in further and put her bag down, rolling her aching shoulders with a groan.

"It'd relax you. Come sit. I'll give you a back rub." Judas didn't really want to antagonise the only person willing to endure him right now, but he did like to tease her a little bit.

[info]shallnotmove 2012-02-08 02:32 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "Would you?" she asked with a smile. She was constantly searching for the good inside of Judas even though she almost always seemed to get burned with him. Jesus had loved him once and there must be something left of that man.
She came over and sat down. "Please don't blow that smoke at me though, it hurts my lungs."

[info]faithtraitor 2012-02-08 02:41 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select Judas was alright at giving back rubs. It was a mystery when he acquired the skill, though. He even obliged her by not smoking when she joined him. He put the joint in the ashtray, coughed slightly, then put his hands on her shoulders. "And how are the city's misbegotten today?" he asked, not that he really cared much, but knowing he was only in a house with a roof by Agatha's good grace.

[info]shallnotmove 2012-02-08 02:49 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "Today I was working at the hospital," Agatha smiled, dropping her head forward and letting out her breath with a happy sigh as his fingers found the tightness in her muscles. "There's a lot of lifting patients and the like. It tends to wear on my body long before it tires my spirit."

Too much TV if he's quoting Futurama to someone who won't have a clue. He pressed his thumbs into her back. "We are all trapped within these living shells." Not a quote, but the truth.

"I think I would have made a wonderful man, but it wasn't to be." She smiled a little, even though Judas couldn't see it. "We all have to make do what the things that are given to us after all."

[info]faithtraitor 2012-02-08 03:28 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "It would be a shame and a waste if you were a man," Judas said nobly, not leery at all. "All your charms would be lost." Make do? Is that what she thought? And how was he supposed to make do with being forced to betray- ah okay, dark thoughts, come back now. He was gripping Agatha a little too tight. He eased up his grip and went a bit gentler than before to make up for it.

[info]shallnotmove 2012-02-10 02:20 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select She frowned at the tightening grip but said nothing about it. "I do like being a woman," Agatha considered out loud. "Although it brings difficulties, I see those as things to overcome and to be worthy of this position I've been given."
But all these things were not what Agatha thought Judas had any interest in listening to and, without turning, she asked, "have you eaten today?"

[info]faithtraitor 2012-02-10 02:36 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "I have, I had some toast," Judas said, kneading his knuckles into her shoulder blades. "I think your femininity gives you a compassion and a tenderness you may not have otherwise. You are approachable and kind. Being a woman does not automatically make you weak." Far from it. Judas had been an apostle once, he did know how to speak eloquently, when he chose to accept that part of him.

[info]shallnotmove 2012-02-14 12:14 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "I know that," Agatha nodded. "But sometimes that very femininity is what puts me in harm's way. You do know how I got to be a saint, don't you?" she raised an eyebrow even though her back was to him. "I like that what some see as delicate others see as unthreatening though. Means I can help where some others can't. And you need to eat something properly," she added, switching trains of thought in the middle. "You'll get scurvy if you live on toast."

[info]faithtraitor 2012-02-20 12:03 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "Yes, I know," Judas said, pouting slightly. "I did have marmalade on my toast. I'm not going to die. Again. And times have changed since then. You can be a woman these days without someone trying to force you to marry someone else. It's not wife or nun any more. Believe me, I know." His hands worked up the back of her neck, and he wondered for a moment what it would be like to caress that skin. Not that she'd let him.
