Thomas let out a shaky breath at Jamie's admission that he had heard enough to know what Thomas had gone through. He took that as a sign Jamie didn't want to hear elaboration, and Thomas was incredibly relieved. There were some things he never wanted to talk about. Ever. He hadn't even meant to tell Serenity, it had all just come tumbling out.
He unfolded his body and pulled his son into a close hug, half to reassure himself Jamie didn't hate him, and half to thank Jamie for not pushing for information.
"You're very right," he admitted. "It is her loss." When he pulled away, he offered Jamie a light smile. "I promise not to yell if I see her again. Deal? And I'm not going anywhere. I never would."
