WHO: Cassandra & OPEN WHEN: Sunday, late afternoon WHERE: Battery Park WHAT: Wanderings
It was easy for Cassandra to get around the city. Or, more rightly speaking, getting around the city wasn't really a thing she noticed. Cassandra could walk for hours and hours and barely realise that the time had passed, not in her disconnected periods like today.
She'd been to this park before, once to meet the warrior Achilles for the first time. They had been on different sides of a war and different sides of a prophesy. A warrior prophesied to die before the walls of Troy fell, and a girl who felt she never truly left them still living.
But she lived now and she knew that much. She knew because when she pressed her flat palms against the pillar of a statue, the sun-heated stone sent warmth crawling up through her veins.
Looking up at the immovable figure who stood on it she asked him, "why is a raven like a writing desk?" The statue was disappointingly unresponsive.
