WHO: Eris & Mordred
WHEN: Friday night
WHERE: Manhattan,
WHAT: A terrible beginning to something probably terrible.
WARNINGS: tba? Probably just sneaky bastards, but we'll see.
It could have been said that Eris was on the prowl, but it was a languorous prowl, the sort that might be best suited to a well fed jungle cat who'd been lazing in the sun. New York City was a placed filled with millions of people and that meant no lack of chaos.
One the warm Friday night most of the young women out hitting the bars and clubs had opted for little clothing - the mating rituals of the modern era - and so Eris passing among them stood out. That was hardly surprising. Eris usually stood out and she liked it that way.
There was no doubt that the gown Eris wore tonight was a wedding dress - or had been a wedding dress in the past. Now it was a little worse for wear, torn and stained with smatterings of black ink and with edges burned and curled. Her make-up was dark and impeccable. Eris looked like the last act of a gothic apocalypse.
She moved in and out of the bars, and where she went she left a wake of arguing couples and angry dancers. She squeezed between two men walking on the street and bought a hot dog from a nearby stand. By the time she started eating it, the two men she'd touched had starting punching each other, a crowd of people watching, some goading and some trying to stop it.
Eris grinned with her hotdog and it was then she caught the eye of another immortal on the other side of the fight. He was of more interest than the boys to Eris. So she smiled at him, an expression that might not have been evil per se but hardly ever looked anything else when Eris made it.
