"Seems like a worthy pursuit," Mary smiled. She'd met Quetzalcoatl once, but the other was unfamiliar to her beyond the vague ideas she knew of his pantheon. She suspected it would be better to avoid him.
"If I slip, I'll tell you," Mary promised. "I'll never keep it a secret from you if I end up in the bed someone else, that much I swear right now." She kissed his hands. "I don't want secrets between us. I want you to see all of me, even the ugly parts."
The idea of taking care of those in the area around them that had had taken control of as a god appealed to her nature. To bring them comfort and make sure they had food and warmth, these were important things. Perhaps, in some way, it could make up for the deaths she was going to allow to happen. "I'd like that. Thank you."
