She just smiled and went back into the kitchen. "You look a bit like Victor did when he first saw me," she said, snipping the ends off the stems, before digging out a vase and filling it with water. She arranged them to her liking and set the whole thing on the table.
"Lucky find, I don't know of many nurseries that do," she said. "And I've been quite well, thank you. I feel better than I have in months. I'm crossing my fingers that it sticks around."
She pulled some mugs down from a cupboard, asking, "Would you like some coffee?"
