As soon as 4chan had left, Higher Education poured himself another glass of sake, knocking that back and setting the glass and bottle out of reach across the table. So that was over and done with - already he could feel that particular muzziness growing behind his eyes, which he simultaneously was relieved and nearly disgusted to notice. Spring Break. Easily one of his least-favorite tings about being him.
Another thing that came part and parcel with being the personification of college was the emotional and social maturity of a frat boy when the situation actually called for it, apparently. Judging by 4chan's reaction, what he'd said - or rather, not said, as he'd focused on drinking rather than actually communicating like people often did - wasn't what he wanted to hear. What did he want to hear, then? He could have just overreacted - did "like" in this context mean something romantic or did it simply mean more in the general meaning? 4chan had made enough sex jokes to make it seem like he liked him, but then it was 4chan. Was there a difference?
Either way, the god didn't see why anyone would like him at all in the first place, but chances were that none of that self-worth dilemma mattered right now. Higher Education found himself hoping that 4chan would return - this required clarification while he was still passibly sober and, if anything, the bill would have to be paid by him if 4chan ran off. He wasn't sure he had any money right now.
Now that was a prime example of precisely why he was screwing the pooch, right there. Goddamn. The saddest thing was that - while he was being brutally honest with himself here - nothing would really change much post-Break, too. He was just that inept at being a kind human being.
Heh. Ironic, or something.
Alright. None of that. He was going to drink water, regret imbibing alcohol as he sat here and let it futz up his central nervous system, and wait for 4chan to get back. Then he was going to ask several pointed questions and try to remember how human relationships worked while asking them.
Afterwards...eh. He wasn't thinking that far ahead yet.
