Once more Gabe had been convinced to go out barhopping with friends and wondered why. He felt so uncomfortable in these places, so out of place. Too tall and awkward. It wasn't true - he was attractive and fit and easy to smile - but so much of it had to be forced.
So mostly he was lurking at the table with two of the girls he'd come with, one having gone outside to call her boyfriend and the other playing pool while she tried to pick up for the night.
So mostly Gabe's night was drinking and talking with them, although in the last few minutes it had turned to trying to check out the guy at the bar. But when said guy met his gaze, Gabe turned quickly back to one of the girls to talk pretending he hadn't been staring. He dared another glimpse.
