"Not for a long time yet," he smiled to his brother, understanding the stars a bit better. Some collapsed early, some lasted long. This one would last a good long while. It was still new, and yet not at the same time.
"Listen to it. Hear how gentle the hum is? It'll get brighter, more erratic. Then very big, until it strains. Then you know it will collapse." He frowned, "here come I'll show you. There's one that's close to it. Perhaps it will relax you to know what to listen for?"
