Anything involving Helen receiving gifts was something Helen participated in. Male co-workers tended to buy her overpriced gifts, some with notes of hope that maybe, just maybe she would consider going on a date with them. It had happened at least once every year, no matter where she worked. She liked the attention, but ever since she and Patroclus had officially become an item she had no problem turning them down.
Ever since Patroclus had begun staying with her Helen had slept much better at night. There had been nights she hadn't wanted to be alone and with him there she didn't have to be. She didn't have to tear him away from his friends just because she needed to be held. It was nice knowing that someone might be there when she got home from work or shopping or whatever else she was doing.
Helen made a little groaning sound and stretched. Had she been a child she would have jumped up and been half way to the living room at the word Christmas. Instead, she opened her eyes and peered up into the face she had grown so fond of and smiled. "Good morning," she said a little groggily and pulled herself up. That's when she noticed the tray of food. "I see you've made a feast."
